I am new to this board but have been reading it for a few years. I am planning on seeing The Stones in Detroit but have never been to the city. Do you have any pointers on hotels, or areas to avoid? My fiancee and I would like to explore the city and would like our hotel to be as close to Comerica Park as possible without being in an unsafe area. Where do The Stones usually stay in Detroit? Any information that you can give me would be helpful. Thank you>smiling smiley

LOTS of "new" Platinum tickets up right now for Detroit.
Some really fine looking tickets!

Detroit will ROCK!

Section 116C row F

Got these tickets. How do you think these seats are from 1-10? 1 being extremely great seats and 10 being the worst. It is kind of hard for me to judge the distance from the stage to these seats as I have not been to Comerica in a long time.

Thanks for all your input.

On the ticket it says Section 116 C, Row F, Seat 5 and 6, Lower Level 2.

Thank you.

John,

Those are what the Tigers call Terrace Seats.
They are really comfortable, larger than the standard seat and probably have a little table between them or next to them. They are also in one of the very few sections that are covered, in case of rain.

Row F probably puts you about 35-40 rows from the field.
Have a blast!

Thank you, Kurt. So from a viewing standpoint, I would assume these are pretty decent seats? Would we need binoculars?

I would bring them, sure.

Hey Kurt. Thank you for your response. The seats do sound comfortable. I don't want to sound like a broken record but do you think they are good seats for seeing the Stones? I know they are not in the field but they are not in the 300 section either.

ALL seats are good seats for seeing the Stones!
cool smiley

Maybe this helps. You will be looking fairly straight at the stage. All of the floor seating will be in front of you. A ways away from the stage, but all the seats in a baseball stadium are a ways away from a centerfield stage.

The worst seats in the house would be directly behind Home plate. ie, the BEST seats for baseball equal the WORST seats for a concert at Comerica. No one is allowed on the infield and the lack of people really makes for a disconnect with a concert crowd.

Don't sweat it. It will ROCK!!!

Not the right thread, I'm aware..

But.. if anyone is in need of a pair of pre-sale purchased lower level (aisle) tickets at face for the show (@ cost $175 +fees per) please look in the All Sold Out thread or e-mail (sec 143). Thanks.

There are lots all around the stadium. Some appear a bit shady but they're alright. Still, you'll pay $25-$35 depending on proximity to the park.

OR $50 and a traffic cluster jam. Tons of construction on Woodward right now.
Buy the pass. Lose the stress.

Another option, since you're coming from Toronto, is to park in Windsor and take the tunnel bus over to Comerica.

Hey RP, any advice on what time of day to do the Tunnel cross? How does the customs process work with a tunnel crossing compared to the bridge? Been to shows in Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills and Royal Oak, but never in the heart of the city...looking forward to rock the motor city proper!

What is the deal with a parking pass purchase asking for the number of adults?

Sorry, I don't have any idea about the best time of day to cross. I don't live in Windsor, I'm driving down for the concert with a friend and taking the tunnel bus over. Hopefully someone else on the board will be able to help!

I hadn't noticed that...rather bizarre huh?!
It's $35 per pass, not per adult!
You can purchase more than one, thus the dropdown.

Whenever I go to baseball games I park at a bar called Nemo's for free and take their shuttle bus to the park for a couple bucks round trip.
It's a bar I love and if you're a baseball fan you can get out on the field of old Tiger Stadium (just up the street) and play catch where all of the great of the 1900's played.

As far as the Stones show goes, I'd just call the bar to make sure the shuttle is running. It will also stop running 1/2 hour after the show so that's something to consider.

Also there are a couple good Mexican restaurants and a record store in the Nemo's area (Corktown).

I should add that if you're going to Nemo's it's quicker to take the bridge across and it's easy to get to Nemo's. It's not difficult to park around Comerica but I like to avoid driving in that area which was clearly designed with horses in mind.
