It's difficult for anyone else to assess what you want, but if $175 is your top price section 139 is okay, right?
The main rule to remember is: Don't buy tickets you won't be happy with, and then be happy with the tickets you buy.
You may or may not get better tickets than 139 in the main sale; there will certainly be ticket drops later
(although it can require nerves of steel to hold out for those, and you may prefer to have the ticket vigil done with);
and either way it's always the case that someone else gets better seats than we do, so do not distress yourself with comparisons.

Good luck & good decisions

PS Sockers56, BV (the owner of iorr) doesn't like all-caps subject lines (or smileys in subject lines) (not that you did that!)
and he's a very busy man who appreciates it if we save him time/trouble.
You can change your title to normal non-caps writing by going back to your first post,
clicking the "edit" button you'll see under it, making the necessary changes to the subject line and clicking "save changes".

At the top of every page you'll find a link to "forum help & policies" that's worthwhile reading.
Happy iorring, and good ticket buying!

Boy, was this confusing. First I encountered the virtual waiting room. At 10 I was let in to buy tickets. I ended up with lower level, section 116, row F. I'm glad this madness is over.

Upgraded myself so I have extras in 139, row N, at cost.

I decided to add this gig on top of Columbus, Indy, and Buffalo after seeing how cheap the LD's were. Got them no problem. Much easier than LD's in 2013!

The Henry Ford & Greenfield Village are absolutely essential. I also like the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle, The Detroit Historical Museum and the zoo.

There is also the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House:

A bit further afield is Meadowbrook Hall.

Depending on how long you will be in Detroit/Michigan. Ann Arbor is a great city, not far from Detroit. It is a university city, small and quite nice. Also Royal Oak is a very cool city, with lots of music and great food.

The Motown Museum is fascinating and usually includes a guided tour for a whopping $10. From Comerica it's less than a mile North on Woodward and then about a quarter mile west on West Grand River. After you're done with the museum take a ride through the once vibrant neighborhood directly south of it. Blocks full of 1920s era family homes literally collapsing on themselves, mostly vacant but not all. It's a haunting sight that will never leave you.

There have been quite a few suggestions earlier in the thread. Greenich Village is a great historical trip. Good food in downtown as well. Great Mexican and Greek Food. Great BBcue at Slows. If you are a photographer some great walking and unique photos of a once proud city in the throes of decay. THey have made a wonderful walkway along the Detroit river, on a sunny day a great nice walk.

No, it's too far to walk and some of the neighborhoods can be a bit dodgy. About four miles each way. Cabs could get you there is you're car-less.

Section DD Row 19 showing up for $350 right now on Tickets.com... looks like they are dropping some good seats right now.

On a related note, does anybody have any idea which way the seat numbers go on the floor at Comerica? Are they left to right? How many seats across are the sections.

Here's the best Seating Chart I've found so far
TRAVEL PACKAGE PAGE

CC and FF are 30 seats wide
DD and EE are 14 seats wide on this chart BUT I have seen where DD and EE have 20 seats wide so plan on 20.

Thanks Kurt. That is helpful. And for what it's worth I was pulling Section DD Row 19, Seats 19 & 20, so I would assume it's 20 across for DD & EE.
