As predicted the ticket prices are lower than 2013. Detroit is being sold via AXS and/or Tickets.com and as such has no info up yet but similar towns (Raleigh, Pittsburgh) are showing $40 to $400 with some towns topping out at $365. I'm guessing Detroit will run $50 to $360 or thereabouts.

Comerica '05 was fun. I had seats on the field, not the $450 ones, I had the $160 seats that were off to the side. I knew the setlist, though, and I knew exactly when the B-stage was going to come out, so when Keith started singing "Infamy" I said to my wife, "Let's head on over there now." We were able to get to within 5 feet of the railing, and within 10 feet of the Stones themselves. Amazing to see them do "Satisfaction" up close like that, and the fact that we didn't even pay top dollar made it especially sweet.

I don't think it's going to be sold through ticketmaster. It's going to be handled by whoever sells the tickets for Detroit Tigers baseball games.

Haven't seen one anywhere other than the generic stadium one on olympiaentertainment.com, nor the prices anywhere else other than an article in the Freep. Was hoping cheapest would be a little lower than that and I'd be able to afford the second price tier. Oh well.

Two questions if anyone knows:

1. Do we purchase tickets at the Tigers website or at Tickets.com

2. That new Tigers pages states "Tigers Registered Users and Season Ticketholders will receive an email with information on how to participate in the presale. The email will be sent to the email address associated with your Insider or plan holder account. " How does one become a Tigers registered user?

Great questions Eddie. I was thinking the same thing. I've never been to the great Motor City so if there are any IORR's from Detroit, please post things like -

1) How's public transport in Detroit.
2) Good places to stay, eat and get a drink or meet up.
3) Any sites we should see while we're there.
4) And for me, any good record store's to spend a couple hours in.

I see there is an Embassy Suites 5 mi. from the stadium with reasonable room rates. Hope to see some of you there.

Irvine, CA

There is no public transportation in Detroit. Just something called a "people mover" which is an elevated train that goes around in a circle. It's basically just a glorified amusement park ride.

The good news is that Comerica Park is right in the heart of Downtown. Lots to do and it's generally pretty safe. If you like gambling casinos, we've got three of 'em.

I would recommend a visit to Hitsville USA, the Motown Records Museum.

Also, if you're a baseball fan, the playing field of the old Tiger Stadium (1912 - 1999) still exists, even though the stadium itself is gone. Bring a ball and your gloves and you can actually walk out onto the field and have a game of catch where Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth played.

Thanks my friend. Hope to see you. You can contact me thru email if you wish. Any update on purchasing tix. There seems to be some questions on how tix will be sold as they are not on Ticketmaster. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. I'm taking Tuesday off from work for the presale.

First time posting but I just wanted to say that the People Mover does go to the Grand Circus Park area which is in the neighborhood of Comerica. As for hotels depending on how much you want to spend The Atheneum is nice and they have shuttles. The Greek town area is full of good restaurants as well.

You can spend DAYS in this used one:

Peoples Record Store in Detroit

Two floors, four or five rooms, hundreds of boxes...
Just north of Comerica near Wayne State University.

Wazoos in Ann Arbor is a great vinyl store. Mostly used, but some new, and some very nice rare things.

is there a pre-sale, or seating chart or pricing...or anything for detroit on a legit website like Ticketmaster, or even AXS? I haven't found any info out there at all yet.

i, too, am confused about where to buy these tickets. they mention either the box office (not good if you're not in detroit!) or tickets.com. but tickets.com seems to be a reseller - not good!

It is confusing... if you follow the links to the two ballparks you end up at the tigers and the padres mlb ticketing sites tho..
