Free entry to the President Benjamin Harrison home on July 4. Free ice cream, too, allegedly. We'll see about that.

Well, I decided to cancel. Good news is that damage was minimal - $240 cancellation fee for the air ticket and $75 for that silly preferred parking. Gave the ticket to an old friend, assuming they'll allow her to pick it up at will call. I'll get some work done, watch the periscope feeds and listen to my new Sticky Fingers vinyl 2LP that arrived today (in the original Spanish jacket!). Not quite the weekend I was hoping for but not bad.

sorry to hear you cancelled....curious, why did you?

Is there any buzz from the locals? This is a basketball town and not much into rock.

On a side note, contrary to some of the above posts, Indy is actually one of the nicest cities in the Mid-West; a lot nicer than St Louis, KC, Cleveland, Detroit, Columbus or Cincinnati.

You're not setting a very high bar with that statement. eye rolling smiley tongue sticking out smiley

Wow, not only are the Rolling Stones in Indy but also a Pokemon convention as
well. Somehow it makes me feel better about my Rolling Stones obsession because at least I'm not dressed as peekachu. Probably the Pokemon people are looking at me, dressed in one of my stones shirts, and thinking somthing very similar but
reversed.

I'm away from home for the coming week - there is allegedly WiFi but there certainly won't be a Periscope-capable computer, so save me some good YouTube.

Enjoy the shows!

I am lucky enough to have been bestowed a VIP ticket but what does it entail in terms of entrance time?

Entry is very vague - but seems to point to 4PM. I expect a lot of confusion
so I would allow some extra time.

A friend of mine who works out there just sent this picture from the front of the bronze section:

Thanks for the pic.

Is that gravel I see? Bad enough that one would have to stand on asphalt, or even concrete, for 3-6(?) hours. This is certainly worse. Much worse.

I'm staying as far away from this one as possible, this has disaster ala Texas Motor Speedway 1997 written all over it.

Mission Control, we are going in Gate 7. Wish us luck. We will make it fun.

Good Lucksmileys with beer

Absolutely no regrets on going.

After seeing the Detroit set list, Indy got screwed by a very tame one. Odd, considering Indy might be the biggest concert of the whole tour.

Heard you say this a couple times and I'm trying to understand what you are referring to. Obviously a great part of the show was the same.

I mean Indy got OOC, Let It Bleed, Wild Horses and Let's Spend the Night Together while Detroit got All Down The Line, Just My Imagination, Rocks Off and Moonlight Mile.

I also prefer the Detroit set but to say Indy got screwed is a bit of a stretch, imo. Looks like exactly 4 slots are up for change each night so it's a bit of a crap shoot. I wish MM would just stay in the set list.

LSTNT < ADLT
Really a toss up but since I had already heard LSTNT live before, I'll go ADTL here.

OOC > Just my Imagination
I'll take a Stones original ofver a cover any day.

Let it Bleed > Rocks Off
Close but I'll give the edge to LIB

Wild Horses < Moonlight Mile
Never been a big WH fan but they did do a really nice vesion in Indy. I'll still go MM though.

I'll call it a tie.

the indy performance and setlist was great. TRULY LOUD and guitar dominant. detroit was a great setlist too, but it was funny to experience the the difference in the way the sound system was used inside the ballpark. in an open field it was unhinged. at the ballpark it was like they didn't want to get the neighbors complaining. still great, though.

ADTL - especially if they don't rock LSTNT

OOC > Just my Imagination
I'll take a Stones original over a cover any day.

I'd definitely take JMI if BILL was still on bass.

No Way. ROCKS OFF every night.

Wild Horses < Moonlight Mile

MM - For the rarity alone.

I'll call it a tie.

I'll say Indy got a TAME set.
