If you are coming all that way, I would suggest seeing if you can upgrade for only 125 Dollars more to the VIP Gold section. It is small section within the gold section. Read through the thread for pictures and other opinions.
I think by owning a spot in that section you can waltz in 10 minutes before show time and be in front of 95% of the people without having to wait all day in the sun/rain.
Dont leave early, they say there will be big time fireworks after the show.
I might also suggest going ahead and buy a $75.00 great parking spot.

$75 to park? Ya kidding me? You could park in Midtown Manhattan for that much money... for a whole week... and have your oil changed...
Does the $75 get you a quicker exit? Does that lot have a dedicated ramp to the interstate?
Wow.
There is so much parking at the speedway that buying in advance is absolutely not needed; remember, this venue is used to having 250k+ there and they have the parking to allow that.
There will be $15-$20 lots on the day and there's also a ton of street parking if you dont mind a 20-30 min walk

I called TM two days ago. They said the tickets were on delay and had not been printed yet. She expected them to go out by the end of May.

Does anyone know what the schedule will be for day of? I know there is a general 1:00 gates open, 8:00 show, 11:30 fireworks and 12:00 closed, but are concert goers expected to go into the ground at 1:00 and start drinking? Tailgating for 7 hours seems excessive. Any news on opening acts?

No word here in Indy, probably will be announced after Indy 500 which is this Sunday. John Mellencamp has a break in his tour from 6-23 to 7-8, he would be a great opener, but he would probably need to do more of a greatest hits show than he is doing on this tour.

My self and my girlfriend shall be arriving from Malmö/Sweden early in afternoon on the 4th.
Have never been been to Indy before.
We saw our boys among other places also in Hyde Park almost 2 years ago.
It was extremly hot but we were able to sit on the grass hours before the showtime'
- it is not possible??
- suggested arrival tim?? got golden tickets
- temperature
- other recomondations??
A good pub or bar before the show??
Looking forward!!
