There is a DoubleTree by Hilton located downtown, not far away from Heinz Field.

Edit: I couldn't get MapQuest link to properly work. It's only 2.66 miles by car.

as noted, there is a Hilton downtown Pittsburgh. It is in quite a beautiful location, right at the point (almost) where the three rivers meet. There is a ton to do in the area, as the downtown Pittsburgh area is enjoying continuous revitalization. You will enjoy - but traffic will be something you will have to plan for.

Highly suggest taking the walk to the show. Driving to Heinz Field from the hotel will be MUCH more of a hassle and time consumer than it's worth. May be a Pirates home game at the same time which means traffic will be horrendous. Even without the Pirates game though, traffic will be bad and you could instead enjoy a wonderful walk across a classic Pittsburgh bridge that will take you to the door of Heinz Field (well practically). Trust me, it's a beautiful walk and a great experience.

Don't forget to get breakfast at DeLuca's in the strip district - about five minutes away - the morning after the show. It's the perfect way to cap a great day or so and get you on the road in good spirits and well fed!

See you at the show!

There's a Hampton Inn and a Hilton Garden Inn both in downtown Pitt; I think the HGI could even be considered walking distance as it's not far from 6th st bridge; maybe 45 min walk?

What about the Wyndham Grand Hotel? It looks very close to the stadium.

The Wyndham is definitely walkable, I'd say maybe 30-40 mins.

The Marriott is over by the arena I think so definitely the other side of town,
walkable but at least 15-20 mins further than the others.
If a 2-3 mile walk doesn't bother you, anything in downtown Pitt is walkable, but you are better staying on the NE side of downtown.
That Wyndham is one of the closest in downtown, If I stay overnight I will do the HGI or Hampton inn and I'm a Hilton guy
If you're a Marriott person you might want to check out the Residence Inn North Shore which is right by PNC park and really close to Heinz field or the Renaissance which is right by 6th st bridge

I lived in Pittsburgh for 3 years and my wife is from there so lots of family and friends. Have friends driving down from Boston too, should be a fun party. Be careful around the North Side where the two stadiums are, some shady areas. But near the stadium there are some good restaurants and bars. Some great record stores in the area worth checking out as well.

This Mariott is a 20 minute Trolly/Subway Ride from the city. Hotel opened 3 months ago. It's in a nice low key very safe area and if interested in site seeing, Andy Warhol's grave is about 10 minutes from there.

Don't know of any subway in Pittsburgh. Your best bet is to look for hotels across the river downtown, there are lots. Many people park over there for football and baseball games and walk across the bridge to the venues. Mt. Lebanon is not really in Pittsburgh. It may say Pittsburgh but like the airport it is not really close to downtown. There are plenty of hotels right downtown that would be easiest to stay and you can walk to everything.

The Priory Hotel looks like its right downtown so that should be walkable to the stadium.

I can't make it to Pittsburgh (too far away) but I am already jealous. We all know Pittsburgh always gets the best show of the tour, every time...

The subway system in Pittsburgh is known as the "T". The Hotel is in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh, about 6 miles from the city. The "T" station/terminal is behind the hotel and down a half-block. Once in the city you are within in reasonable walking distance to the stadium.

The priory is walkable, but not advised. Stay downtown and take the T to the show unless you plan to tailgate. I am a season ticket holder for the Steelers so I have been to plenty of games and events at Heinz Field.

It will be a great night. They're gonna rock the town baby!

Ok, Pittsburgh experts, I have a question. What hotel is more convenient to Heinz field-The Wyndham Grand or the Westin Convention Center? I am planning to walk to the concert and am considering these 2 hotels. Opinions? thanks!!

I think the Wyndham is closer, but either one is a nice walk.

If you want to have a nice dinner. I recommend Hyde Park.

Priory is nice, neighborhood is not so much.

Hyde Park is very nice for nice dinner. Jerome Bettis's Bus 36 is next to Heinz Field and is decent for burgers and sandwiches, but will be crowded. If you plan to eat after the show, think about Pittsburgh's specialty, Primanti Brothers, especially those staying on the South Side.

Flying in from Sweden and booked the Wyndham Grand, should be close to the stadium, right?

Most of the hotels located in the downtown area are within walking distance. If not you can always jump on the T. The ride on the T from downtown to the Heinz Field stop take about 5 minutes and is free. There are also several hotels located in the Greentree area of the city which is about 3 miles from the stadium. If you stay anywhere outside of downtown just get to the area of the stadium early on the day of the show as traffic will be a nightmare. I advise parking downtown and either walking or taking the T. Its a beautiful walk across the river and you won't be disappointed.

Hyatt Place is a perfect spot. Short walk to Heinz Field. Also close to several bars and restaurants as well as the casino.
