These current ones look like they took about 10 mins to do, and most of them just add the football team's colours to the tongue.

Come on Stones, get some young/creative artists on the case!

With relatively little money in the poster business, it's not likely. I totally agree that the lack of truly creative input in these posters is painfully obvious.

I'm actually getting so sick of the tongue in general that it's lost the impact it once had on me. Over saturation may reach more people but it's lost the hip kind of exclusive coolness it once had. My vintage tongue shirts will probably stay in the closet as a result.

I have a question regarding ticket selling practices and am hoping perhaps you may know the answer or have some advice. At what point do the tickets held for no-show friends of the band and venue VIPs / sponsors get thrown back into the pool for public purchase? Many times I've read great stories of fans scoring amazing seats close to showtime due to the no-shows. I'm also wondering if being at the box office itself is helpful or if one can purchase these throw-backs online. Any help appreciated

It differs - depending a lot on the band. My experience with Springsteen is between 6 and 6:30pm. With the Stones - it appears to be after 7pm to showtime. But I'm basing that on the NS, Licks and Bang tours - I haven't paid attention to the rename the tour every leg over the past three years.

The band tickets for most bands are almost always hand delivered to the box office after 5pm - so they don't make it into the online system. Even if tickets are still being sold online - you can be pretty sure the tickets the band sends back are earmarked for people who know the box office employees or have been waiting at the box office for two hours, making friends with the box office employees.

Some box offices will sell over the phone on the day of the show.

If you're going after those tickets - it's best to glue yourself to the box office before 7pm, find a friendly box office employee and let them know what you're looking for. If you're lucky, when the Stones' unused band helds are dropped off at the box office - the box office employee will signal you over.
