Periscope is just like Ustream, but built by the folks at Twitter. Great concept for reporting news in a warzone, stupid idea for a concert. Again, the Stones social media people are just hopping on trends. I hope they prove us wrong and actually broadcast more than 20 seconds here n there. Then again, I am hoping the Stones play Carol or Sweet Little Rocknroller at every show this tour.

I've seen periscopes that are more than 20 minutes long so it is possible. Not sure about sound quality though.

I think I have used Ustream before, I think that is the one we used to watch the storm chasers and crazies going into huricane zones.. it was pretty intense watching billboards and debris blow by at 70 mph... as you said it was not a super clear picture, but it was interesting and they made money by forcing commercials every so often, and when the content is worth it I have no problem paying for it by watching commercials.

I seriously doubt they are going to give away a whole concert free,

I changed that phone to reflect the scum offering it. That was a CL ad.
It the demand for a club show is really at a $1000 per ticket then that money should go to the Stones, not scalpers... and if the Stones dont want it, then send the 1200 x $1000 Million Dollars+ to Nepal.

what other bands have done is stream live from the dressing room before the show, stream parts of the show from off stage... Periscope is not for professional video recording or streaming, it's for people to capture cool events from their phone. Some fans do stream parts of concerts, as I mentioned U2 fans have been doing this, but as you can see there is a "no phones" rule for tonight's show.

To the lucky ones who got tix. The only special event Stones show I've seen was the " Benefit for Nicaragua " at the LA Forum in 1973. A bvunch of us High School guys staying up all night in the parking lot of the Forum to get wrist bands. Scored that time , I still think it was the greatest concert I ever saw. And I've seen a few. We paid a whopping $ 25.00. a un heard of price at the time, front tickets were $ 100.00.Seemed insane at the time. Good to see the tickets have gotten reasonable.
