Like Slewan said, if you use five devices you might just block yourself out in a sense.

the positive thing about this – everybody has a chance (although a very slim chance)

I can see the headlines now...Rolling Stones Show Sells Out in 5 Minutes.

I'm not sure what to think about this online ticket sale. I believe the ones who made the effort to get their butts to the venue from miles away should have first crack at the tickets.

I can just imagine some secondary ticket seller with a bank of fast computers and bots ready to pounce on this one. If I see tickets of StubHub for $10,000 this afternoon I'll be bummed.

peace
If they're smart, they won't even try it as the site says a picture ID AND the credit card used for the purchase are required.

What I'm hoping that I hear about is some IORRian on the east coast (or significantly outside of LA anyway) who buys tickets at 12:00 pdt, hops a plane at 1:00 pdt, lands around 7:00 pdt and is able to make it to the Fonda theater in time. Nothing against all of the dedicated people hanging around LA. I just think it would be cool to hear the story of someone who's crazy enough to make the above scenario play out. Note: It won't be me.

Peace,
Mr DJA

Let me get them first and then let's see what happens. It maybe as simple someone tells me he likes my shirt and then I hand them a ticket. But first things first. I gotta get them. Please don't beg or bribe. Its not about money to me, its about the Stones. I would sell my ticket for no amount of money.

I'm sitting and waiting with five devices to log on to RS.com. The internet speed here is zipping. I'm alone, I only need one ticket I'll probably give the second one away, if I score. I wouldn't sell my ticket for any amount of money.

I would be delighted to take an extra ticket off your hands!
Good luck no matter what.

Yeah that's a good storyline but even more dedicated are the ones like onlystones who hop a plane to get to the site without the slightest guarantee of success. Hope he gets in and gives his extra ticket to another IORR member.

Can't disagree with you on that. I must say, as I'm following the thread, I'm definitely rooting for "onlystones"... I'm hoping to hear a follow up from both them AND ESPECIALLY their guest.

Yes, I agree, whichever one of us LA fans gets through, buy 2 tix, and you know we'll buy the other off you to go as your "guest". That's what I'm going to do.

If the online sale doesn't crash, the few hundred tix will be gone in about a minute or two. If it does crash or freeze, then it could be a few minutes as they reboot, etc.

Also, there could be dribbles of tix throughout the day, as they don't really know how many "Invited" guests are going to show up, so they want to fill in the hall with the rest of us. They might even look at the hall at showtime, and say, "we need 20 more in the back". remember its a video production show, so Directors & Producers are creating the scene inside the Fonda Theater.

And it will be on Periscope in some form. Whether its the whole show live, or just highlights, at least its something for us who don't get tix.

It says you have to bring guest with you when picking up tickets. Not when buying. We'll see how it works out. A grown man should not have this much fun.

For those serious about flying in; Burbank is definitely a faster drive to the Fonda as LAX is, especially if you are renting a car.
car rental at LAX will add at least 45 mins to your time and then you have a 45 minute drive
If you get into Burbank, it's a shorter drive (and faster as you're heading south against traffic) and car rental is much, much quicker.
I would imagine uber or a cab are cheaper from Burbank as well;
i'm thinking Burbank to Fonda is about 8-9 miles and LAX to Fonda is more like 13 miles

right but both are 9.400 kilometers away form me… thus four or five miles more or less don't really matter…
