Latest Rolling Stone magazine quotes Mick as saying the Stones may be looking to extend the current tour. Anyone here any more rumours

Hmmm, a short notice from BV comes to my mind, see for page 2 from his "Zip Code Tour 2015 Blog", at his message from June 20, 2015 06:04, just at the end:

Quote
PS. I don't want my picture taken, that is how it works, don't know why, but some times I make an exception, Argentina! Argentina! It was in Orlando I got the messages that made it even more probable with shows in South America later this year, Oct/Nov 2015 probably...

Bjornulf

Kind of hoping extend the tour means extend the North American Tour, a few extra shows in LA, SF, Seattle and New York would make lots of folks happy!

If North America extended there would have to be a pretty long gap just to allow for tickets to sell. Or a few smaller venues. Texas could support another show. Denver seems possible. Seattle? LA got hammered last time with shows and ticket sales were slow cant imagine them getting one. New Youk City?

If more US dates should happen, then negotiations are already in full swing or even almost settled, I think.

Ideally announce a few more shows for late Sept, early Oct. right after this tour, then jump in the studio while they are hot and record the rumored roots record in August and September. I think a couple months is plenty of time to sell the shows. Then off to SA for some late Oct and November dates, off for Christmas holidays and then another tour of Europe in the spring. Pretty ambitious I know, but it would be a great way to please all the fans on what I truly think is the last time around the block.

no new studio album. dates in south america later this year or next year. keith's album/tour might still happen later this year but i doubt it. look for smaller venues in the US.

Yes probably...

Yes, please...

What's the consensus when comparing 2013 to 2015? Listening to June 3rd 2013 Chicago shot after listening to a few of the Zip Code 2015 shows. 2015 shows sounds significantly more tight and much more energetic. The 2013 show I'm listening to had 22 song setlist (assume that was standard for the 50 tour). Does 3 additional songs really affect their energy level? Probably. They are very impressive in 2015!

I think they are playing tighter as a group today than in 2013..

It seems as it often does, that they came out this time more like they had something to prove..and they have.

Biggest difference to me other than that is no Bobby who is sorely missed.. (no knock on Karl as he has been excellent)..

I can't really keep up this pace past Buffalo. If they have more shows, I'll have to find a new wife.

Someone has probably already mentioned but RS Mag says Stones considering extending the tour. Does that mean South America or Europe or...?

South America seems inevitable at this point.

They are consistently hauling in 8-10 million Dollars in ticket sales per stadium show, plus the sales of merchandise, not to mention $10-$15.00 beers overpriced food and $30-$50 for parking.

This is a runaway money train and I imagine promoters all over the globe are saying YES YES YES OHHHH YESSS!!!! And The Stones themselves seem to be having fun doing it and the fans are loving it, so...

The question is not "will they keep going?"
The real question is "why would they stop now?"

Why would they ever stop this 15 shows at a time touring? As long as they are able to play and so many people are having fun and they are making mountains of money and they are employing all the crew and roadies. It is win win win win win aka #winning #everyoneiswinning

What remains to be seen is who will stop first The Stones or the super fans who have been going to EVERY show world wide for 15 years?

I guess we will just have to stay tuned and see what happens.

PS
They have really mastered playing the 50,000 seat stadiums. The big screens and extended speakers make it work quite all the way to the back. Of course if one is in the first 10 center rows it does not matter, but the people in back have to be happy too, and they all seem to be, up to the last row.

Very true points of yours, I second that!

From what I can hear at the YTs from the shows of this tour - you are right: if a video is shot from the back or from the sides, the sound usually isn't THAT bad! OK, it's nothing compared to actually being there, but my point is, that even with the YTs you can notice it!

And they kept those loud guitars for 2014 in Europe - wonderful!
May they never stop!

It has been like one long Christmas season for me ever since I first saw those teaser billboards months ago and knew YES!!! They were really going doing this awesome tour across parts of the U.S. which they had ignored on their recent tours. And now, sadly, it is almost over, again. Bummer man.

Welp, only one thing to do, smiling smiley savor every last second of every show and and song they play from this Saturday 4th of July in Indy to the finale up in Canada on the 15th.

I will miss them when they gsad smiley. I always dsad smiley.

I took my 16 and 19 year old sons to Milwaukee - and they loved it. The 19 year old has spent 4 additional nights at Summerfest and saw his near favorite band-Lincoln Park. He says no one has compared to the Stones. This has been a great tour which I saw 5 times. Need to see one more though I was not planning on it.

I want to add my voice to everyone saying that you need to see the band on this tour. I've been spoiled over the years by being able to snag great seats to see the band up close on may occasions. I live in California. Getting a great seat for San Diego was way beyond my budget.

I decided to go to one show wherever I could get a great seat. After weeks of trying I was suddenly able to snag a third row seat for KC on Ticketmaster. I grabbed it.

I wanted the set list and other details to be as much of a surprise as possible, so I really wanted to go to a show earlier on the tour, so I could start reading posts and reviews again.

A couple weeks later, I was able to snag a fourth row seat on AXS for Minneapolis. I was going to have to fly no matter which show I went to and with the added cost of airfare, I could only afford to do this once. So I decided to sell my KC ticket. It didn't sell as fast as I had hoped.

Then I went to the Minneapolis show and I was blown away! I knew then and there, that despite the financial insanity of it all, I had to go again and I bought my plane ticket for KC.

I spent a lot of money to see the Rolling Stones twice on the Zip Code tour... And it was worth every dime. I saw my favorite band in top form. Twice. Jagger in prime Jagger form. Keith playing his ass off in spite of his grotesquely swollen hands. The whole band having a blast and working hard every show. I had very high hopes and they exceeded my expectations both times.

There are four more shows on this tour. Is this is for U.S. shows? There's just no way to know if this is it. But it could be. And with the band playing at such I high level, I urge you not to miss out on seeing these guys. There are good seats to be had. You just have to work for them. Plane fare isn't cheap. I know.

If you remember the old MasterCard commercial, it goes something like this:
A great ticket to the show, $375 to $425.
A plane ticket to get there, probably about $400.
The experience of seeing the Rolling Stones in prime form before it's too late... Priceless.

All right...not excited about long drive home to Alaska, so maybe one more show -- Detroit -- but need something to do until then.

Currently at motel in Lexington, KY. Any ideas on where to settle down for next few days between here and Detroit, or cool things to do, are appreciated!

Well. True! One thing: like Relms said: only 4 shows left.

BUT! This is the first tour where I can join live and listen to what's going on and it is so wonderful to have that and at the same time so sad that this hasn't happend many years before.

Then again: those 4 human beings seem to be all set up for some time and everyone is looking healthy, so no reason why they shouldn't tour on into the next years!

South America makes sense. Maybe
Mexico. Don"t see much of
a demand here in the states and
truthfully surprised they have
been able to average around 44-48
a show. Only maybe 2 nights at
MSG, but we saw in 2012 struggle
to fill up 3 dates at Brooklyn and
Newark. NYC is no longer a Stones
town.
