Meanwhile there's another riot in a medium sized city in North America. Call me a snob but I'll wait for the band to come back to NYC. The unrest here is unpresidented and smaller cities are not prepared for this violence. This is not a political post but instead a heads up to travelers in The US this summer, book the very best hotels and be prepared to flee at the first hint of street violence. Street Fighting Man is just a song and this is stacking up to be a terrible summer in The US. Don't accuse me of being gloomy the facts are unfolding as of now. There are some cities on the zip list I would not go near right now.

Doom and Gloom indeed.

If you want to feel safe at a Stones show this summer, Buffalo is the place to be.

)My schedule keeps me from this show but Buffalo would have been my choice. So far I'll pass on Zip Code, no MT,stadiums an overall sense of the music taking a back seat. I'll take my chances for some solid NYC shows right after although my insider at Forrest Hills says not there. It's not the inner city people it's Martial Law and riots I like to avoid. I had my share of The National Guard after 911.

Baltimore will play a baseball game tomorrow to a closed to public empty stadium. This chaos is not restricted to just the poorest neighborhoods.

Only because they need the police at other locations...and no need to add another crowd of drunks...

And if you're a Stones' fan, you NEVER ask if it's Safe!!

I always wondered, but I guess now we know,
that guy from "Marathon Man" is not a Stones fan... [www.youtube.com]

Thanks BV for letting this discussion flow, proof you are a fair moderator. I do not intend on pushing this civil issue. The best suggestion was to keep positive. Peace.

Is it just me, or do others find people who constantly stir sh*t up like crazy, then end their posts with "Peace" annoying and extremely disingenuous?

There are many ways to interpret what is going on in Baltimore…..

Is this a thread to discuss the Zip Code tour or a CNN comment feed? Enough with the insipid fear mongering, and spare me the news coverage posts on Baltimore. I don't come HERE for that.

I thought it was really generous of the moderator to allow the recent points of this discussion. This is a music site only but sometimes current events and art still mingle.

Is BALTIMORE on the Zip Code tour itinerary? No, it isn't.

Word on the (shidoobee) street is Keith and Ronnie fly out tomorrow for rehearsals...

Going to take every bit of self-restraint I can muster not to be doing the same...

I've been told by a reliable source that the Stones will be pre assembling their stage at Clair Brothers in Pennsylvania in early/mid May, however it's unlikely any of the core members will visit. A test fit it would seem, which begs the question... will they be using a different stage than last summer's European tour? Would the same stage as last year require a test assembly? It appears the same by the seating charts.

Here's a link to Clair Brothers. Their new unique facility has been getting a lot of use by the top touring artists of late. The purpose of the facility is to permit full scale performance rehearsals on the artist's actual stage.

Probably the stage is similar, but a different crew tests to assemble it.
plus, the electricity in the states might require a different setup

Yes, I assume production rehearsals as well. Lights, video, etc all needs to be in sync.

Thanks for the stage info. jazzb. So after the stage is set up, are they going to break it down into pieces to travel to San Diego by trucks?

Good question BKB...
I wonder if its a different stage or modified stage between the Baseball parks and stadiums.. Going to opener and it would be nice to get a feel for the setup at couple stadium shows going to later in the tour.. Anyone familiar?

That would be my guess. Figure 3-4 days cross country for professional drivers.

Hanes. Black. Large w/ pocket. Or maybe a striped Izod w/ an alligator (collar, not a T shirt). You?
