Does anyone else remember reading an interview of Taylor in 2012/2013 where he said he regretted leaving the Stones and that he didn't realize at the time that they were his friends ?

Just for fun:

How many of the Mick Taylor enthusiasts, here, would welcome this a 2026 Tour line-up?

Mick Jagger: vocals
Mick Taylor: Lead guitar
Keith Richards: lead and rhythm guitar
Ronnie Wood: bass
Steve Jordan: drums

that would have been an interesting line up for the songs taylor played with them in 2012-14

of course with charlie behind the drums not steve

nowadays i don't know

has mick taylor even pick up a guitar in the last ten years let alone played one?

Well, this line-up would be for the entire show; not just the handful Taylor was allowed to perform on a decade ago.

Who knows whether it'd even work, today; and as you say, has Mick Taylor picked up a guitar recently?

Ahhh it’s old but it’s a recurring theme I too like to visit often.

2012-2014

When hearing the 3 guitar line up of current Oasis and how great they sound, on a guitar front it’s possibly the best version live of oasis. it still bugs me the stones didn’t put the shift /prep in back then to create the dynamics/space for all 3 guitarists playing together more. Particularly with Keith at that point not fully back to the swagger stellar player of old

Aside from the show pieces of CYHMK @ Midnight Rambler, songs like ‘slipping away’ showed nicely how it could’ve worked out. That had some nice subtleties from the 3 of them when they all played together.

Thinking about it, what songs did Mick Taylor play on 2012-2014?

CYHMK
Midnight Rambler
Sway
Silver train
Satisfaction
Slipping away

Were there any others?

Of course, my scenario could never happen. Also, Ronnie on bass for an entire show?

No .Say they played 18 song set.Wood, Keith and Taylor would each play bass on 6 tracks.Taylor plays guitar mostly on songs he played when he was in the band .

I don't expect Taylor to wipe the dust from his guitar.

Okay, Pistoia Blues 1991. I saw Taylor with his own band in Pistoia 2003 - and that was not a good gig at all. But that 1991 one surely is!
