Didn't he tour for Stone Alone which I believe was released in 1979 ?

Re: when was Mick Taylor´s first solo tour?

The debut album "Mick Taylor" was released in 1979. "A Stones Throw" came out in 1999.

Those are the only studio albums he has released.

The live album "Stranger In This Town" came out in 1990.

There have been a couple of digital live releases that came and went on Spotify in the 2000s, but I don't remember the titles.

Looks like he toured with Alvin Lee in 1981, extensively with Mayall in 82/83, worked on Dylan’s record in ‘83 and then toured with him in 1984. He didn’t do much in 1985, then went on the road in summer of 1986.

He made an appearance with the Allman Bros in ‘86 I never knew about:

I seem to remember a boot where he plays live with Keith in NY, was that in 1986 ? The year of his first solo tour ?

No. He was planning to tour, and I even remember a date being announced at my local venue, a small club on Long Island called My Father's Place, but the tour never happened.

Yep. I think that was December of '86. I wasn't at that show, but I did see him when he finally played at My Father's Place on Long Island in January of '87. A local radio station spread the rumor that Keith was gonna be at that show, too, so of course the place was mobbed. No Keith that night, but it was very cool to see MT while he was still in his thirties and still kinda looked the way he looked when he was in the Stones. Closed the show with CYHMK and then encored with Jimi's "Third Stone from the Sun."

I heard a show — think it’s from Listen to This Ronnie — and he does a brief sound check of the Hendrix song If 6 Was 9. I wish he played the whole thing!!

Thanks for posting. Does anyone know anything about it? Did they do a whole album together? It doesn't appear to be on Spotify.

Mick & I is an album by Japanese jazz/fusion/pop artist named Miyuki featuring Taylor. My dad has the album and I burned it from him. It's about 20 years old I think. Lots of really cool instrumentals and great guitar by Taylor. He receives writing credit on Amber Blue.

Unfortunately, I don't know where you can buy it.

Mick knew Ricky Byrd, who was a guitarist in Joan Jett's Band. He was a fan of Mick and asked him to play solo on I Hate Myself For Loving You and JJ was a stones fan as she has played Star Star live.

I read a Carla Olson interview recently where she said Too Hot For Snakes was being remastered and released on vinyl for Record Store Day. I believe she said there will be bonus cuts.

Great interview! Would have been nice to have more recordings of Sway with Carla. Too bad the Stones dudn't include a long version with 3 min exstra solo at the end on the deluxe version of SF. What a treat it would have been!

First time I've logged in here for years & rather than wading through 262 pages I Wonder if anyone would tell me if Mick T would of seen any money at all for the Goats Head Reissue? Even if it's just for them using his image, as he's in some of the photos advertised for it all over the media...

Why wouldn't he? He plays on it.

Apparently, he got a songwriting credit for Criss Cross as well.
