Honest As Daylight’ began as a set of lyrics written by Textones drummer Rick Hemmert which Bobby McDonald and I composed music for,” Carla told us. “Having two legends participate in the recording was more than we could have imagined – soul man Percy Sledge and former Rolling Stone Mick Taylor. I’m glad it’s getting a second lease on life.”

Noodling - if Mick Taylor could have delivered noodling like EC on this song then it would have been a hit. That being said. Hyde Park 2013, Midnight Rambler, was wonderful.

Great version of Red House, but the date is wrong, it was March 17, 1999.

Mick knew Ricky Byrd, who was a guitarist in Joan Jett's Band. He was a fan of Mick and asked him to play on it and JJ was a stones fan as she has played Star Star live.

If you're referring to the second Staples show on May 20 (as opposed to the first on May 3 which I wasn't at) I'd probably agree,
but a few of those club shows during Licks I attended in 2003 were extra special - especially Stockholm Cirkus and Vrednburg.
Probably moreso for the overall small venue vibe and setlists, while the second Staples show had Mick Taylor playing four songs, and overall an exquisite setlist.
Impossible to pick one over the other really, and when I include the first time I saw the Stones in 1981, they basically all rank at the top.

Thanks, this is not on YouTube anymore. I wonder how some members of the Stones were dealing with their addictions, since Australia must not have been easy to score dope at the time.

Taylor didn’t need to quit the Stones if he wanted to do solo stuff. If he felt he wasn’t getting credit for writing songs on Stones’ albums he could have put some of those songs on solo albums like Wyman did.I don’t buy his claim he quit because of the drug use in the band ,since he went on to play with druggie Jack Bruce. He also continued to have drug issues after that.J think he got mad at Mick and Keith because he didn’t get writing credits for songs onIORR. So he let his ego get the better of him. Ironically, he is getting a writing credit for Criss Cross all these years later.I wonder if Criss Criss had made Goats Head Soup in 1973,would have remained in the band in 1975

Think Mick Taylor will attend the Unzipped Exhibition in the Netherlands in Nov? I know the previous exhibition was tumultuous for him, to say the least. Just wonder if it being closer to him will make a difference.

That's really cool. He does look happy.

Has anyone successfully sent Mick T. fan mail? I've been sending letters to some of my heroes thanking them for their contributions to some of my favourite albums or movies. Had some really nice responses. Sometimes none at all, which is fine too.

I have sent him a happy new year card 2 years ago. The respond was to leave him alone.
