I sure hope you're right that he's doing ok.

I'm also hoping he (and Bill Wyman) has some involvement in the upcoming Goats Head Soup Reissue like he had on the EOMS reissue. He shined even more on GHS in my opinion.

thumbs up

Erwin's «but he's doing ok» is actually real news, albeit pretty abstract at that smiling smiley

I think the Stones feel they got as much out of Taylor as they needed. After Bill balked at playing two songs he didn't do a lot on, Mick T. was more important as a link to the past. Mick T probably made enough coin to be comfortable, and doesn't really want to tour the small places on his own at the time.

MT is on some tracks on Carla Olson's new record out in Feb. Not sure if these are
new material or from prior studio work with Carla.

Seen Mick in many small venues in Europe since the 1980's and also the Stones Europe Tour when they opened at Oslo in 2014 .
Great days and great times to see The Rolling Stones and Mick Taylor performing live.
It's his decision not to do these gigs and take it easy , but it's such a shame his talent is not being seen live these days.

Such a great musical talent. thumbs up

Was just thinking about my missed opportunity to meet Mick Taylor the other day, he standing outside the bar at the Auckland Stones concert (2014) having a fag after it looked like he wasn't able to get in earlier, I could see that he was speaking with the doorman who I don't think recognised him, actually no one in the area he was standing recognised him I was the only one I should of gone up to him and offered to help get him in, after his fag he walked off into the crowd.

I missed him circa 2009 when he cancelled a show I had tickets for.

I opted not to drive across half the country in 2013, because I figured they’d bring him on the next tour where they played way more cities.

It’s a shame!!

Not that I expected he would, but I'd really love him to return to the Iridium in New York.

Stones could invite Mick Taylor to play again with them

Don't think Taylor wants.

Why would he not want? He need not play whole evening, just songs he likes ....

Don't get the impression Taylor had any say so on what or how many songs he got to play on

Really throws off the show. Not a good idea.

He didn't seem to enjoy coming on for 2-3 songs a night.
Probably fun in the beginning - then .....

Yeah they could and they should invite him - he was always the highlight of the 50 and Counting shows.
Keith wanted to continue with him on board as a three guitar band after that tour...a shame that didn't happen, but it's not too late to try again - in fact seems the perfect time for it.
BRING BACK MICK TAYLOR 2020 - would make a nice bumpersticker.thumbs up

Never mind 1 or 2 songs a night how about make him a fulltime member of the band?

With Keef's playing becoming more erratic with each tour it would be nice to have Mick back to carry him when he struggles. Why not? as Keef seemed to enjoy having him back when he toured with them and Woody gets along with everyone.

Who knows maybe Mick's presense would inject some new energy in the band and freshen up the setlist.

How many more tours do they have in them and it would be a nice full circle as they reach the end.

Great idea when they did it. Wished it equated to more. Really elevated the shows I saw then but (sure this is selfish cause I already saw it) wouldn't need to see it again. If its not gonna be a permanent inclusion, which I'm not saying would make sense if they did, I don't really need the teasing to continue.

Yeah I'd love it to happen, but i felt that there was some jealousy going on last time, they didn't really want to use him, it was like OK here's Mick Taylor ladies and gentlemen now get off the stage before the audience notices you are channeling something on a higher stratosphere to what we can play.
I don't think they expected him to be that good, when he had the chance he blew them off the stage. What surprised me was his stage presence too, he'd outgrown the shyness we remembered him by, even when he's talking now, he's really evolved into a confident personality. I got the impression Keith likes him being around but keith wasn't prepared to let him have a lead solo on Satisfaction or anything. He did however enjoy Mick Taylors touches on Slipping Away towards the end of the tour. I love Mick Taylor, such a pity he didn't use his experience with the Stones to step out and do something on his own. He seems to have gone back into his shell bless him.
Anyway he definitely exorcised some demons throughout those nights when he was allowed to shine.
