If I were to mention some tough androgynous artists from the early seventies, so may it be Marc Bolan, David Bowie, David Johansen and Steve Harley. The rest is fags for real.

Its really amazing how many of the Brits biggest rock star have been gay, bi, or just feminine.

Elton John
David Bowie
Freddie Mercury
Mick Jagger
Pete Townshend
Morrissey

Plus I don't know if any of you have seen the pictures of Robert Plant playing Soccer in LA in 1977 but he probably should be on this list also.

'Fag' is an old-school slur on homosexuals. Only the ignorant or genuinely bigoted use it today.

Guys, scandinavians hear americans using that word in movies every day. Come On didn't know it was offensive. He's a good long time poster, give him a break.

A lot of people honestly don't know that FAG is a slur and insulting. This came up last year when a Pro Basketball player used the word and mostly young people were shocked that he got fined for it. I had this conversation with a few young people and I couldn't believe they thought the word was acceptable, they were telling me I didn't know what I was talking about.

yeah,and the poster did apologize-

there are good people on this website and at the end of the day we are only talking/arguing about music.

we just dont want to ever cross that line into true actual a-hole-ism.

even my a-hole-ism has parameters.

"Fag" took the common place of "ass-hole" or other cussings in the 1990s as I recall. No one said it in a derogatory way ie demeaning to a gay individual (because I never heard it said to someone that was gay in that way, it was always two or three guys saying it to each other, like dumbass or whatever, it was just not saying ass-hole etc.

Of course Keith likes to smoke them... those little bundles of wood.

gaslight that is wrong. In the US fag became a very derogatory reference to gays. Along with faggot, it is a very offensive word to gays.

smiling bouncing smiley

"Hand in glove
the sun shines out of our behinds
No, it's NOT like any other love
this one is different
because it's us!

Hand in glove
we can go wherever we please
and everything depends upon
how near you stand to me

And if the people stare
then, the people stare
I really don't know
and I really don't care

Hand in glove
the Good People laugh

Yes, we may be hidden by "rags"
but we have something they'll never have

Hand in glove
the sun shines out of our behinds

Yes, we may be hidden by "rags"
but we have something they'll never have

And if the people stare
then, the people stare
I really don't know
and I really don't care

So hand in glove I stake my claim
I'll fight to the last breath

If they dare touch a hair on your head
I'll fight to the last breath

The Good Life is out there, somewhere
So stay on my arm, you little charmer

But I know my luck too well
yes, I know my luck too well
and I'll probably never see you again
I'll probably never see you again
I'll probably never see you again"

...and I think we'll have fully evolved as a species when we don't need to use a word that used to mean 'happy' to describe a sexual orientation. Just because that person is 'gay' doesn't mean they're necessarily happy.

He likes guys. He likes girls.

Now move along, nothing left to see or discuss.
