Another show from the middle of the sixties would be great- I heard Charlie is my Darling again yesterday immediately after listening to Live Licks! What a difference: 2 hours of Vegas against 30 minutes of the genuine Rolling Stones ...

VideoJames, as a man who seems to have an accurate knowledge about unreleased shows, can you offer any more info on the 1972 tour? At the end of the Crossfire Hurricane documentary, there were several brief live clips of pro-shot footage. They were not from the released Ladies & Gents, although could feasibly have been from unreleased footage shot for that film.

Could the footage have come from the Robert Franks CS Blues film ?

there's also a snippet of the last Sydney show in 1973...the scene with the ping pong balls...now that one would be amazing!

how about the hotel room jam in Texas (circa 1978)? I recall Chet Flippo wrting aboput it in one of hs books (he played "drums" on a telephone book att he "session"). If my memory serves me, he recorded it, but says after the tour ended his huse was broekn into and the tapes stolen. He seemed to hint that he thought Mick's bodyguard had been sent to ge them back!

I have the book inb my Stones library at home, but on short notice, below is the only reference of the story i could find on the internet:

Mick was obviously tired of talking. He started singing "Do You Think I Really Care," one of the forty-four tracks the Stones cut in Paris, and before I knew what was happening, Wood whipped out a guitar, Mick produced a harmonica and Ian McLagan wheeled in an electric piano and we were caught up in a Stones jam. Mick showed me how to improvise a percussion table with telephone books and sticks and there I was, drumming along furiously to the legendary, never-released "@#$%& Blues." Our set was varied: a lot of Jimmy Reed, "Got No Spare Parts, Got No Oil to Change" off our next album, "Maybe Baby," a few oldies. At noon, after seven hours of jamming, Mick Jagger, the king of rock & roll, slumped over on a bed.

Yes that's one possible source although the clips on CH looked like they'd been shot on more professional equipment than the slightly amateur look of CS Blues.

I noticed there's some new footage of The Phoenix Toronto Club gig in the beginning of "The Salt Of The Earth Documentary" Chapter 1/5 (Superbowl) which was put up on The Rolling Stones Facebook page yesterday.
Real close-up during the opening song Rough Justice and The Stones backstage before the gig.
Maybe an indication this is (one of) the next DVD releases from the Vaults.

Very dry-sounding guitars on the Tokyo release.

and a terrible stadium reverb that made the sound awful. better listen to madrid 1990

Heh. Well, what about the full Paradiso show from 1995? Has someone mentioned that already? I'd really like one from the BRIDGES tour. Actually a couple of 'em.
