Didn't the Rolling Stones once dabble in producing a Rolling Stones brand beer.

I think bud sponsered several tours, so I don't know if it was linked to this, perhaps a bit like the VW Golf Rolling Stones limited edition car.

Any fine web links to British or Scottish beers, nashville?
Sure will plan a tour to the Highlands too...
But I "have" to visit Czech Republic first.

The only women I seen at beer festivals have full-grown beards and side-boards. All the better to sieve the beer through!

Yeah, that would have been me. Wasn't kidding, but...you're referring to the 60s/70s stuff that the "Real Ale" guys rebeled against. The WRB that I've had is actually brewed now in Canada by Sleeman (I misspoke), for import into the USA.

Wasn't there a Monty Python skit about Watney's?

This has put me in the mood. I know it's a Thursday but I'm off to buy some beers and go home to drink them.

I'm off to Cornwall next week so anyone know of a good Cornish pint?

Karl,

Well I have learned something. I didnt realise that someone was brewing a beer called Watneys Red Barrel. A sort of negative marketing idea - a bit like calling your brew Gnats Piss or something. Will have to try it sometime.

Yes there was a Python sketch mentioning the infamous Watneys Red Barrel - it was the one about the travel agents where Eric Idle goes on and on and on about British tourists in Spain and their lack of culture. Hilarious stuff and still partially true i'm sorry to say.

Theres a good beer website at www.beerme.com

Wow, I'm enormously thirsty now - I'm salvating like a Pawlow's dog!
And it just came to my mind that Corona is a great beer too - or Desperados!

AH YES, the Travel Agent! Thanks Andy! The (new) WRB is quite good, and is still around the US I've discovered through a little surfing. It's made by the same folks who brew the Unibroue line.

- John Smiths Best Bitter (UK)
- Budweiser (USA)
- Nordlandspils (Norway)
- Grolsch (Netherlands)
- Stellas Artois (Belgium)

Plus at least 100 different German beer brands.
German beer from many local cities is the best in the world.

All fresh and cold from the draft of course.
No bottles. No substitutes. And no microbrew.

Without a doubt my favorite beer is Guinness, I can drink it all night long.

Budweiser here in the US is often mentioned in the same sentence as piss but there are those who would rather drink a light beer like that.

One great American beer that is brewed in Vermont is called Magic Hat, they have very pychedelic labels and once had a seasonal beer called Their Satanic Majesties, or something like that and it had some of the design of the Stones album on it. Their most popular beer is called Magic Hat Number 9, great stuff.
Their site is cool...

There is a Sami beer JAHKI (=the year), brewed by Gellivare Breweries in Northernmost Sweden;
eight labels, eight brands, eight different tastes for each & every of the Sami eight seasons. Tried a couple of them; but I think they need some time to settle their brand(s)...

See the logo, never mind the old lady (didnt find any filled-bottle pic)

And back to the rum,

Bacardi's oaked rum i think its called ora

One of the worst was a cyprus rum thou i did drink the bottle one new years eve and when i eventually woke up my mrs wanted me down the hospital i looked that bad.

also the cheap spanish rum.

Now the big question is is it best drunk neat or with coke or as one old west indian guy drink it with a pinch of water?

Another good one in fact a excellant one is the 151 dominian repuplic rum & any cuban rum as i managed to get about six bottles back to the uk.
