A question from Japanese fans:

On the Flashpoint album, what does Mick say after Sympathy, in Japanese?

Thanks! smiling smiley

I always took it as Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto.
My Japanese is pretty weak these days though so not positive.

My memory wants to say it's "mado mado tsutsukio" - but I doubt it! :E

That is correct. Whether it's spelled correctly I don't know ha ha. He says 'mado' more like 'madi' but whatever.

FLASHPOINT was such a buzz when it came out. I heard Start Me Up and Sad Sad Sad on the radio and thought 'Holy CRAP do they sound good'.

Then I got the album.

SFTD was good... then. It hasn't aged well. Nor has most of the album. It's their weakest live release.

For me, the Flashpoint SFTD version (and the SW/UJ tour version in general) is the best Sympathy and the most exciting version with the tight rhythm and the breathtaking coda. The solo is amazing, and I love the unedited longer solo on the bootleg version as well.
The rest of the album is OK and it's their last release with Bill playing!

Better than GYYYO!?

No way. Even SFTD on LOVE YOU LIVE is better than FLASHPOINT's.

The boot I have from the URBAN JUNGLE tour, SEVENTH OF JULY, it does sound better. No overdubbed vocals, obviously, and unedited, with all the goofy notes etc and much longer. Better than the 1991 official release but not better than, well, the other two I mentioned.

I think it's more of a question of taste than debate... smiling smiley

I love those versions too (especially Get yer) but my fav is the Flashpoint version. Thanks for the bootleg title, I will look after it!

Mick says "Mada, mada, tuzukuyo!",
which means "(show isn't over) still continuing!"

A rough equivalent to "are you ready to rock & roll some more", I presume :E
Thanks pooroldgrandad

pooroldgrandad's answer is correct.
Mada Mada Tuzukuyo at 14:46 mark = the show's far from over.

Give Live Licks a few spins, and maybe you will change your mind?

I still like Flashpoint. The tracks from Atlantic City are great.

Factory Girl, Ruby Tuesday, Paint It, Black, Start Me Up. All fabulous!

Rocks Off, HTW and CYHMK on Live Licks, however... (TWO open G-guitars on the latter - nuff said eye rolling smiley )

Domo arigato means , "It's good"!
I heard Michael Douglas say that in "Black rain"! He was eating!

It's a fantastic boot. I ordered it from some music mag back in 1991 I believe. Great sound. From what I know it was a show that was broadcast. Somehow only Happy made it on and fortunately not Can't Be Seen...

And SFTD is better than the one on FLASHPOINT. It's a bit rougher.

I like LIVE LICKS better. Although the editing to make everything fit compromised the songs, it's not like that tour's version of Rocks Off was worth putting on a live album! Brown Sugar and Street Fighting Man are the only good tracks from disc 1. Disc 2 is pretty damn good, although Neighbours reminds me of Respectable from NO SECURITY - why bother.

Monkey Man, Nearness Of You, You Don't Have To Mean It - stellar. Worried About You is pretty good.

Whip is hilarious. Beast Of Burden would be good if it wasn't Beast Of Barden.

Didn't know that the Vault live release of the 1990 Japan show was the version of SFTD used for FLASHPOINT. Hilarious to hear it unedited.

Paint If Black from LIVE LICKS is pretty good. Better than the one on FLASHPOINT? I know it's in a different key. The LICKS version is a bit heavier and meatier. Has more energy.
