What a dreadful song! Absolute s***e! And the teenage fans would not have a clue who Ronnie is. Loads of them already wear Rolling Stones t shirts and do not know anything about our beloved band. Anyway just noticed that even Doxa is speachless: he has written possibly his shortest post eversmoking smiley

One Direction are not a band. They are glorified karaoke.

Maybe so, but tomorrow there will be 4 million british teenage girls wondering, "who was that old bloke?"...........and then some of them will check out the Rolling Stones.............What's so bad?

And will join us here on IORR............

God, don't even say that man. That's bad karma. Can't you hear it: "Aw my God, Mick is SO hyper when he's dancing". That'll be the end of my time here.

Glad to see Ronnie givin' those kids some lessons. It's kind of a strange pairing but I at least give their guitar player some credit for that sweet looking SG he's playing. smoking smiley

I must have missed it.

Was watching sport on BBC.

Will catch it tomorrow.

Six guys in front of stage and only one a really good musician .

Do you really need 4 or 5 vocalists when bands like The Stones or The Who just need one or sometimes two. eye rolling smiley

I really don't get this. Why would Ronnie do this, If he had an album or a book to promote, I would understand ( I would still not like it but at least understand). I don't want to make a judgement, but why Ronnie, why????

Breaking news : Ron has been demoted from this "official member" position in the band!
Back to 1982 for him : a per-diem and 2nd class airflights!

Wtach out Ronnie : Thorogood hasn't given up on plotting behind your back to take your place in the band! >grinning smiley<
And MT's right behind him!

5 attractive boys
only one of whom plays an instrument moderately well
who don't harmonize, but sing in unison
and are one of the most popular groups in the world

Seems to me that many boybands, although very successful and admired by millions of girls, don't want to think of themselves as boybands. Instead they would like to be considered as mean rock stars.
Hence the tattoos and the "rock" attributes. The collaboration with Wood probably supports them in this deliberate misinterpretation of themselves.

Ronnie was one of OD's mentors when they started. Not surprising that he joined in for this.

I recall reading a year or three back that Ronnie had 'taken the band under his wing' and become an informal mentor so that could explain it...

Why would a sing-back boyband need a mentor in form of a rock and roll guitarist? What could he possibly teach them?

Re: Ronnie on "X Factor" Finale, December 14

The business, the connections, the drugs?

Sure, Dandelion. Although I'm not sure that Ronnie is the right guy to answer those questions...

Simon Cowell is a genius

Endorsed. I truly find their worldwide popularity - and it's longevity, several years already I think - really baffling. They're not even particularly attractive. Anyway, Ronnie has had a long standing friendship with them; an unlikely relationship but it's his business and I don't care about it or think it damages the Stones in any way.

Boybands are pin-ups for little girls fantasies. The music is prefabricated. They are completely interchangeable. Soon another boygroup will take this ones position.
The market is enormous. A dream for people like Simon Cowell who can cash in on it.

From Ronnie on Twitter:"Really enjoyed tonight, playing live with the boys was so much fun".
So he had a good time, I like that.

Why on earth would Ronnie Wood from the Faces and the Stones give an endorsement to either this appalling show OR the latest Cowell flavour of the month mass market pop phenomenon?
He seems to have become a bit of a media tart - award shows, movei premieres, fashion shows..what next Ronnie, game shows? Oh no you did that last night already.
