Rock & Roll Hall of Famer keyboardist and 20-year Austin resident Ian McLagan suffered a stroke on Monday and was admitted to Brackenridge Hospital on Tuesday, where he died Wednesday at 2:39pm according to those who worked with him.

I saw Mac in Chicago about a month ago.
Stayed after the show, bought his book, had a talk with him and others for about an hour afterwards. Great stories and such a down-to-earth guy.

Get well soon. Thoughts and prayers to Mac and his family and friends.

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Iconic local musician Ian McLagan is in critical condition at an Austin hospital with what a source tells KXAN is a head injury.

Mac, as he’s known, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with “Small Faces” and “Faces” in 2012. He has also worked with the Rolling Stones.

McLagan plays in Austin with his Bump Band and is scheduled to be on tour with Nick Lowe right now.

Any news on what happened? Was he in an automobile accident? Sure hope he recovers 100%. I know he's probably in good hands as there are some amazing doctors and first class medical treatment in Austin. peace

Mac has had a severe stroke yesterday while getting ready for tour with Nick Lowe. He is on life support, and not expected to recover. The sweetest man I've ever met.
