Re: The Rolling Stones live in 2015

Last time they toured the US they had different presale dates for different venues, some went on sale the exact same date & time which made it difficult. But for other locations presales started a week or a few days later. So it was scattered around several dates but a few venues at a time. Not all the shows went on sale the exact same date and time.

But were all of the presale dates and times announced at the same time (when the tour dates were announced)?

Yeah but they did add in some new dates later on so those started later.

Ah thanks. I feel like they probably wouldn't add many dates after announcement since this is a smaller tour

The "Thursday" billboards are still up in my neighborhood. Saw one last night. Maybe their marketing company forgot about them if the announcement is now Tuesday.

Usually Pre-sales begin a few days after the announcement and not all shows go on sale the same day.

Rehearsals will probably be in LA again since they are starting out here, and like lounging in LA for a week or so before they launch.

Remember, the last US tour did not sell out all the arenas because ticket prices were so high. Many fans complained. The Anaheim show I went to in 2013 was not sold out. They seemed to give away some tickets at the last minute to fill up the place. Stadiums may be similar this summer, unless they have some real good price points to fill the upper decks.

I've saw this on twitter today, and I think this billboard is located near Indianapolis.

I tried, but it's impossible to see if there was any other message than "Please allow me to introduce myself". I'm curious if there is mentioned some date or day...

The 2013 Tour averaged ticket prices well over $350. That borders on insane, and is amazing when you consider that many venues needed to sell extra "lucky dip" tickets to sell out. It was a case of promoters being a little too optimistic, but they still managed to put out very good numbers. I hope that we will see prices closer to the stadium shows in Europe last year, where prices were much lower and first day sell outs were common. A the end of the day, the promoters make the decision - the Stones have most of their money guaranteed. We shall see soon. . .

Yep, same here. I was trying to find some other legible pics, but that's the only one that I spotted on twitter until now. Let's wait until March 31. smiling smiley

smart if you ask me. I remember when touring with the Grateful Dead, there would always be Dead cover bands playing in loval bars for those who didnt want to do the shows wanted to keep the party going after the show. They would always start at 11pm...and the places werre always packed and fun!

It would be great to have standard pricing at the start instead of inflated. It's us hard core fans that are getting potentially taken advantage of. I know where I want to be at Buffalo, if the price isn't in line I will wait.

@Stones2000, @Christiano: shure, I also expect Tuesday 31st. But before, we had "Thursday", then the promotion for justakissaway.rocks and now nothing but the logo and a line of lyrics.

This was also seen in cinemas. No "Tuesday". The only thing which is left now, I think, is simply the tour/announcement.

Yes, we already had the "thursday" and the "wednesday" billboards, but it seems now that they are being more careful about this, which is maybe why the billboards and ads doesn't have those dates (as far as I know) and just a "coming soon" instead of it.

What are you trying to say with the health thing, CE?

I'm merely adding that THAT will be the date and I'm hoping all people are well and happy and healthy. I suppose I'm still reeling from the loss of Bobby Keys. I knew he was unwell and I knew what I knew......but when it really happens it was a terrible shock. I felt *almost* as badly as Keith felt. NO ONE could feel worse than Keith felt, outside of family. But it was almost beyond belief.

I do know the band are all in good health and are planning to make the announcment on the final day in March. I suppose I'm just thinking outloud and hoping everyone remains healthy.

I'm a long way from over the loss of Bobby. Sorry, but I'm allowing my grief to show. That's all.

Thanks for getting my pulse back to normal again smiling smiley

I guess smart. But I am usually blown out after a Stones Concert. And by the time people get out of the parking lot and to the Casino where the Tribute Band is at. I think would be too late. I could see if it were the night before or something

The Minneapolis billboard (above) is the same today as it was Tuesday, Mar 24. Three messages (three different ads): "Pleased To Meet You" "Allow Me To Introduce Myself" and "Introducing The Rolling Stones". No mention of a day or date.

I am mildly irritated to say the least regarding all the comments here about forthcoming ticket sale announcements and frustration at having to wait several more days to hear anything positive about a tour of the USA.A tour of South America is also on the cards, it seems.

Seems like the Stones are ignoring the UK again, after they did a huge European tour in 2014 plus Japan, the Gulf, Australia and New Zealand. Try waiting until possibly 2016 to see them again, if at all, then you might have something to be frustrated and impatient about. The huge ticket prices plus travel costs and accommodation will be prohibitive for most UK fans to get to the USA to see them. Commercial considerations aside, they owe the country of their birth a big UK tour, in my humble opinion, including Hyde Park as a finale to their illustrious career.

Don't think they owe anybody or anyplace anything at this point, but I understand your point. I believe they will truly set the stage for their exit with a few shows in England, I'm guessing sometime in 2016. I doubt Charlie will want to continue after that, maybe a few one-offs.

The other european countries didn't get four shows over a relatively short span of time, though.

Last year's European tour was hardly "huge" - just 13 dates + Israel. UK fans could have flown shorthaul on a budget airline to any of them, just as long-suffering central European fans would have had to. And now many people in North America face a similar issue.

We have been warned time and time again on IORR that the Stones will not necessarily come to us, that we must go to them, and time is running out.

The Stones do not owe us anything. We owe it to ourselves to see them (subject to outrageous ticket pricing).

I think a sense of 'entitlement' permeates society and is the cause for a lot of unnecessary grief.

One would think that as a knight of The Royal Empire, Sir Mick has technically sworn his eternal allegiance to prioritizing gigs in the UK.

While waiting for Buffalo to go on sale, what shows have other people purchased?Ithink so far I purchased Madonna and Shania Twain. Outside from us here, is it possible they will lose out to the casual fan who has committed summer budget to country acts, ampitheatre shows etc.....

I would imagine AC/DC, U2 and the just announced Van Halen tour to be the biggest competitors for Stones $'s.
