Just heard a major DJ (Jim Ladd) in LA say Stones are playing LA on May 20.

Hmm...
Rumored San Diego tour kickoff date is May 24. Earlier than that??

Anyway, I would like to go LA show if they play at Hollywood Bowl.

I saw a billboard in Michigan yesterday driving, looks like stones are coming to Detroit!

Pete from Dayton, Ohio, sent me a note that he saw a billboard just there. Almost wrecked his car... grinning smiley

I haven't heard of any billboards around Indy yet. I know a cab driver who is around town all day - will ask him if he has seen anything.

I was wondering about the place and manner of the tour announcement, which will apparently be on Thursday, March 19th. In 1975, to announce Tour of the Americas, they came down 5th Avenue on a flatbed truck and played Brown Sugar. In 1989, for the Steel Wheels Tour announcement, they arrived in Grand Central Station by train in an antique caboose. When they announced the Voodoo Lounge tour in 1994, they came across the Hudson River on a boat. For the 'Tip of the Tongue' announcement in 2002, they arrived in a massive blimp with the Stones logo.

I have some wishful thinking for 2015. Since it is widely rumored that they will be playing the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 4th, why not have the band show up in Indy cars, riding around the most famous racetrack in the world? They have the 2 seater Indy cars that fans can pay to ride in, and there are probably enough of them for the entire band. Then they could get out of the cars at the finish line and play 'Start Me Up'! The IMS could probably provide them with some legendary Indy 500 drivers to run the band around the track!

March 19th is also the first day of the NCAA Tournament, which will culminate with the Final Four in Indianapolis on April 4th & 6th.

Here's a cool writeup on their tour announcments, with videos of several of them:

So maybe Ohio date will be somewhere else, like Cincinnati or Cleveland? Though I keep my fingers crossed for Columbus!!

Bjornulf, any chance that some of the midweek shows will be arenas? Or it's only stadiums + very few amphitheatres and one festival (Canada)?

Helooo, Long time follower, first time poster… Could Ottawa be in The Game?… Brand New Festival site with 75,000 Capacity… Shania playing her only outdoor show there on Jun 27th…. Hear it for a for a Thousand Miles !!!

Read about it yesterday. Hoping for that one too, but think it's unlikely!

Hi ,first time poster.
I first attended The Milwaukee Summerfest in 1988 whilst travelling across America on Amtrak . I have been back many times since, travelling from the U.K. It really is the best festival around .I'll be going to this years Summerfest . Have seen The Stones several times at MSG ,but to see them at Summerfest would be unbelievable. There's no headline act for The Marcus Amphitheatre on Sat June 27th also there's no Summerfest on Monday 29th ,when Miller Park is free.
Here's hoping for either of these dates .

Does anybody know if they're very likely to do a San Francisco show?

I think the teaser billboards are great. It's sort of like an Easter Egg hunt. You have to give Mick and the boys credit for always coming up with innovative new ideas and concepts. They have done a lot of great work with lighting and stage design over the years and have advanced the art and the technology and show a desire to continue to innovate.

From the Sticky Fingers album cover to the Steel Wheels stage and innumerable other ideas, it's all part of what makes the Stones so great.

I am convinced that they will go down as the greatest rock and roll band in the history of the world.

I am afraid that you might get Carpal Tunnel syndrome with all of your postings of the same stuff/questions over and over again.

Thanks for all the great info BV.
Okay all you Western New Yorkers; my heart is set on Buffalo but the Billboard is in Rochester.
Could this possibly mean the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester which holds 13,000?
I saw my first Stones Stadium show at Rich Stadium in 75; this would mark 40 years for me if the Ralph Wilson show is indeed a go.
Any other Billboards spotted near B-lo??

The billboard tease is so cool, love it.

I wonder if they'll announce the whole tour Thursday or trickle out some dates to build the excitement.

Its starting to look like Texas is being left out...confused smiley....No word from BV on it..No Billboards..No strong rumors....At this point I'm very disappointed..I cant make a California date until after June 4th and I cant travel to anywhere else outside of Texas...I'm feeling stuck out....

There has been billboards spotted in Buffalo along the 190, I heard the Ogden Street exit specifically. We're getting a show.

Yeah sorry. It's just that often when I post a comment, about 5 minutes later it gets lost in a wave of new comments. So I assume nobody saw it. I just really value the advice and knowledge of other, more experienced IORR members.
