OMG! What a beatiful dream I had! I was standing in a bar full of Stones t-shirts in London wearing a brand new black 78 American tour t-shirt. We were waiting for security to open the gates. The concert was taking place in a park on the London Embankment (strangely a very built up area). Anyway it was sold out 79,000 and then we were in and they were playing Sweet Virginia!hot smiley It was the Summer of 2015!

What a fabulous dream!

Summer 2015?

Re: Stones : Confirmed 2015 : France

Actually, it's not "confirmed". There's interest from Racing-Metro to open their arena with a rugby match and a Stones concert.

"Dan Carter may find himself facing the All Blacks in his very first year of playing in France.

Carter will join Racing Metro in 2016, with the French club set to open a brand new 350 million Euro stadium in November that year.

Racing Metro media officer Ian Borthwick said they’re looking to confirm a match against the All Blacks as part of the stadium’s opening.

He said they’re looking at an opening weekend of major proportions, with a game against the All Blacks, and the next day a Rolling Stones concert.

Borthwick said that the All Blacks market is huge in the French rugby scene.

Should the match take place, it’s likely to be an add-on to the All Blacks’ end of year tour in 2016.

Actually Carter goes in 2015 after the Rugby World Cup in England. The All Blacks would be almost be tougher to arrrange than the Stones. Thats why he say's "looking to confirm a match against the All Blacks as part of the stadium’s opening" and the game would be an add on to the 2015 end of year european cash in tour that the AB's do each year... He doesn't say they are looking too confirm anthing with the Stones, this implies strongly that that has been wrapt up ,therefore he's confident to announce it the news knowing the audience, of which i'm a longtime listener, It was broken on the Tony Veitch Show Yesterday afternoon and he wouldn't want to misrepresent in his homeland's radio market, Ian is a New Zealander working in France for the past 25+ years

I'm calling it confirmed

So glad to hear from them! Bring a little joy in these sad times.

(lost my sister at age 50 last week. She was so sad that she will never know the end of the Stonesstory, how, where and when)

Hoping so much that they will play again in 2015.

Sorry about your loss Niek. Sending love and healing thoughts your way. She's got some pretty good company on the other side.

Seriously guys....when do you think they should give it up?
Keef & Mick are like 71 - 72 years of age.
I know I know " it's what they do " buy now? Why. They all have more than enuff money to last their families for generations to come.
Drugs? C'mon. Vitamin B12, Centrum ? Sex ? C'mon. At 72 YOA ? Yeah yeah I know Viagra & Cialis but really with the exception of Mick they've all been married an awful long time and let me ask you...would any young beautiful woman in her prime ( say 18 - 25 ) want to have sex with MJ, A 72 year wrinkled up old man ? Rock n Roll ? The rock n roll mystique has kind of died and withered on the vine wouldn't you say?
Will there not come a time when people will stop going? Wouldn't that be sad?
When will it be time for Keef to throw out to the crowd his pick for the last time.?

Why should they give it up now? Seriously - they were never as tight as they are now, Keith and Ronnie are focused as they were not for years, and Mick's singing is phenomenal!
Were you at a stones concert on the 14 On Fire or 50's OC Tour? Then you should confirm this.
Of course they are older now and it isn't the same as in the 70s - the rebelling is over, the 'doing bad things for more attention'-period is over, everything that counts today is the music!
I read an interview where Mick said that today it's more pleasure for him than ever. It's not about money. Every musican with passion understands that. And most people still love to go on their concerts. You don't have to.
So why they should give up?

I guess there won't be a last concert. And I hope they will make music until they die. Maybe one day Mick finds himself too old to perform - then I also will accept it.

I really hope they play in your home town Cristiano.

I am lucky enough to have come from Kingston in London area where they played in the very early days down the road in Richmond as well .
Still love to see the old places where they played as well as watching Rugby at nearby Twickenham where I also seen The Stones play. thumbs up

Absolutely true, they really are on top form at the moment.

Since they emerged in November 2012 after a five year silence following the ABB tour, I've seen them 14 times ... and all those shows have been spectacular for different reasons. But they all have one thing in common, they're playing their asses off and sounding great. There's gas in the tank yet ... !!

2013

2014

Yes, and even when you compare the 50s & Counting and 14 On Fire Shows you can clearly hear how they got better in two years. In the middle of 50s &C Micks Voice sounded very nasal - a bit as if he had a cold. At the end of the tour it was great and now he sings perfect - with an open throat and less 'nose'. But it's difficult to say that from videos. You just have to see them live.
But better back to the topic. Not that someone complains grinning smiley
