2014 shows

Any of you Stones-aholics on IORR care to weigh in on where the best show(s) of 2014 originated from?

This would be certainly a question for IORR-Editor Bjornulf Vik - he has probably seen all Shows of the 14-on-Fire Tour.

Maybe the Show-Reports are alternatively helpful to judge which show was the best - and the latter one depends certainly on from the personal taste.

I can imagine too, that the location, the weather conditions and the response from the audience has a influence - maybe better in the Real-Madrid-Stadium than at the TW-Classic in Werchter.

Personally I do not care which of the 29 Shows was really the best - I'm simply glad that the Stones are in 2014 still on Tour .... smiling smiley

Berlin in the pit for me.
Only saw two shows in 2014. The other one was Werchter front of stage. Had a great day and fun, but what a sh**hole that location is. Nice they did It's All Over Now in tribute to Bobby Womack, but it did not match Berlin in anyway.

All true.

But my intent is to see, through the eyes (or, more appropriately, the ears) of those who have listened to all the 2014 shows available in bootleg form which is the best.

In which show does the music bristle with hair-raising intensity? In which show are the Stones on fire? Granted, perhaps a bit much to ask in 2014, but you get my point.

Maybe 2nd Tokyo Dome (4-Mar-2014) as well as Brisbane (18-Nov-2014) were the best Shows ...... because Silver Train was played. winking smiley

Having, thanks to IORR, an ample supply of Stones boots, it seems they always manage a little something extra when in Berlin.

I would say this goes for Paris and London also.

I posted in the thread for the show that I thought Midnight Rambler at Brisbane was the best version I had ever heard. Having just seen the clip on youtube in the cold light of day I can hear that it really was. Can't really comment on the full shows though as I didn't go to enough of them.

Singapore for the small intimate venue; Oslo for the show and emotion

Pinkpop was the best show I have seen. Pretty amazing show.

Roskilde was the better of the two I saw. November 25 2012 was the best after the comeback, though.

For me it was a triple tie.

Oslo, Zurich and Madrid because they were all great shows in different ways. >grinning smiley<

Due to the change of schedule we couldn't make it to Australia. The European Shows 14 where good, but for me never came even close to the arena shows in 2013. I would judge Zürich and Berlin as the better ones in 2014.
Still everybody has a different opinion.
On the other hand the Stones gave on all the shows their very best. What else could be expect than a very nice evening. And most of us had it.

Pinkpop
Berlin
Paris
Vienna
Dusseldorf
Mardrid

Looking back on the concerts I was at, the bolded ones, are my favorite.

I agree with Grison. The US arena shows were better.

I just saw 1 show last year and that was in Oslo.
Got the chance to hear them rehearsel outside the venue and that was something special. A great memory to remembersmiling smiley

The 2014 shows seemed really good from the videos. When I saw them in 2013 (2nd or third show of the tour) I said to my husband, "Thank God for Charlie! He's holding this whole thing together!"
