We got the lucky dip tickets but weren't too lucky and so were given general admission. But not worry we found a great spot to the side of the seated area, which gave us a great side on view of the stage. On a few instances Mick walked to the end of the stage on our side and gave us a fantastic view of a few classic dance moves
The opening bands were good, I hadn't heard songs from either, but really enjoyed their sets.
And then for the Stones! The pyrotechnics and fireworks really ramped up the beginning of the show with JJF the perfect starter to the get the crowd riled up. It's only rock and roll was another great crowd pleaser and Tumbling Dice was beautifully done I really enjoy the way the band performs that one. I was so excited for the Dead Flowers win, it is an absolute treat to hear the Mick and Keith's combined vocals, their voices just complement each other so well! And Keith's quick pat on the back for Mick for a job well done was a lovely show of camaraderie.
Paint it black was a lot of fun, but I wish they had played Out of Control, that was an absolute highlight of Adelaide and I am also missing Doom and Gloom, it is nice to have a recent song in their setlist especially one that the audience seems to enjoy. But I absolutely understand that Mick needs to rest his vocals and make sure that he is ok for the rest of the tour. Hopefully things will be better by Brisbane.
Keiths set was lovely, always so heartfelt, especially You've Got the Silver which gave me chills. Midnight Rambler was a highlight as always. I am really enjoying how the two Micks play off each other during that number. And then on to the home stretch. Miss You and Start Me Up had the crowd going wild! Absolutely loving Darrell's solo on Miss You! Gimme Shelter had Lisa and Keith cosing up and Lisa and Mick owning the crowd on the catwalk. By Satisfaction there was not a single face around me without a huge grin. Mick even dragged Charlie back out for an extra bow and before he could escape Keith was dragging Charlie out again for a bow.
All in all a night I will never forget. Mick's dancing was incredible as always, he is just so graceful onstage. Keith was all smiles and looked like he was having a ball. Ronnie was playful, him bowing down to Charlie during his introduction was hilarious and played amazingly and Charlie was flawless as always. Sorry for the super long post, haha, I am just so pumped from the concert!!
