Interesting to see the total gross income. That's a lot of money.
It would be interesting to see how much they get paid and how much of that is actual profit and how goes to all the costs of salaries for the whole crew, stage, transport etc.

Cheers,
Wuudy

I'd say all that income, split amongst 4 individuals, is pretty gross.

The "second" show is, of course, actually two shows

I am sure that ALL that income IS not split amongst the 4 individuals.

Aren't these numbers the gross income of the ticket sale? So that goes to the promoter and the stones receive a fixed sum of money agreed beforehand, right?

Cheers,
Wuudy

I guessing the only thing guaranteed is their MINIMUM performance compensation. They still probably get a big share of merchandising and I imagine the costs of production are covered by the promoter with some exceptions. They will make more than their guarantee...most likely. peace

A simple structure for major show deals that I have seen requires the artist to provide the "show". So, the Stones would be obligated to deliver one "14 On Fire" show, at (for example) Adelaide Oval on October 25, 2014 (includes transportation, staging, lighting and personnel). The artist gets a guarantee, payable in installments. The promoter then bears the risk of bringing in enough revenue from the show to cover the guarantee, his costs (biggest are venue and promotion) and leave him with some profit. The promoter gets revenue from ticket sales, sponsorships, TV rights (if granted) and merchandising.

The merchandising is typically split in some manner. This gives the artist the incentive to deliver good products.

Many variations exist, of course.

For many years the Stones have made more money from merchandise sales than concert guarantees. I imagine this has snowballed even moreso since online shopping became a staple.

Plus these are Australian dollars, no? 1 AUD is worth 0.87 USD...

. Yes I know, 13.000 each. But they made 9,8 milions vs 8,9 milions in Adelaide with 52.000 people

You're right, andrea66. The difference between arena ticket prices and stadium ticket prices is clear. That's why in stadiums there is a mutch bigger percentage of young people who brings more energy to the whole atmosphere. I know, many fans here do strongly disagree, but I say ... long live stadium Stones gigs! Personal preference..

BTW, "50 & Counting" got #6 on the list of the top 2013 tours, with $ 126,182,391 gross number. "14 on Fire tour" has already $ 143,448,464. Let's see. And, speaking about attendance, maybe the rounds of 2012 - 2014 are short, but the band has already played to 1.2 million people (not including Festivals, not even Hyde Park) since O2 arena gigs. Hey, Mick and Keith, what about 15 more gigs in Europe, next summer? It would be nice...

I read reports the Adelaide crowd number was 54, 115 and I'm not sure why they didn't list the $500+ tickets? Also, how can the Perth concert make around 1million dollars more with around half the crowd number?
