There's also a DAC boot that used that tape...

I bought it because I was at that show. The tape used is in stereo. It's a bit tinny but certainly listenable.

Whenever WV is mentioned I think the same thing: Where are the '72 San Francisco shows? One would think that surely they were taped. Everyone else was.

Yeah, me too. When I first heard about WV and the guy who bought the archives I was very hopeful we would get the Winterland Stones shows and 69 Coliseum shows as well. But so far nothing and it has been about 7 years now. I have given up hope.

In their defence WV have put up some terrific stuff. The Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac concerts are outstanding and the run of early Jefferson Airplane gigs is great to hear.
The problem is that we do not know what they have. Theoretically they may have all those mentioned in previous replies plus Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett (USA 1967), Buffalo Springfield, Byrds, Doors,Love from 66/7 etc.. but they do not answer questions about their inventory. Many tapes may have been lost/damaged or shows may simply not have been recorded in the first place even if at first glance it appears they should have been given the time frame.
I understand they do pay royalties so that's good.
Another consideration may be that some artists may have made it clear that they do not want their shows released via the vault. If a show was broadcast on radio/tv as well at the time, that might give WV a legal window but if they tried to release some 1969 Stones they'll come up against ABKCO. The legal fees alone could finish them. Early 70s Stones could also be problematic. I'm sure they'd love to put shows like that up for release (plenty of money to be had there) but assuming they actually have them at all, they are probably wise to avoid legal confrontation. Can you imagine what Apple would do if WV put up a USA Beatle concert ?
Personally i'm disappointed they stopped the FLAC option and that occasionally they edit shows. Overall though, i've heard some great stuff i never thought i'd hear so they're fine by me if a little tardy in their release schedule.
I need some more Peter Green Fleetwood Mac dammit and i know they have at least one more coz Dinky Dawson (who sold his tapes to the vault) told me.

39 songs? That must have been a long show! WV is great. $50 membership/year and one has access to lot of amazing live music

Yes but if that's the only way to hear it i'll take it.
I have asked that they go back to including a flac option. If enough people moaned politely about it they might change their mind. Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac still sound firetrucking awesome in mp3. (Even better in lossless if such a thing is possible).

Exactly, they have content nobody else has access to. Sure we'd all prefer lossless but i'll take an entire soundboard Stones show on MP3 for $5 any day.
