Such a strange response...I thought only us Americans were that self absorbed. BV has it right, you don't go to Hawaii, it happens to rain & then sulk the rest of the vacation.
P.S. Anyone who has been waiting their whole life to see the Stones & only now bought tickets...haven't been waiting their whole life...or were born recently. That's like me saying I've been waiting my whole life to see BB King. I mean sure, I had like 1,000 chances...but THIS was the one...

Totally agree...disappointment is understandable. Signs about all the money you "lost" is silly.

The way you are responding to it If YouStartMeUp is very grown up. I do feel disappointed for you and people that are in the position you're in, but at least you're being sensible about it.
I honestly hope you get the chance to see them before they hang up their boots.
If you're a new Stones fan and are light on gear feel free to email me and I'll run you off copies of stacks of dvd and cd boots
cheap by today's standards. in '99 it constituted their most expensive tour at the time. though by all accounts it seemed worth it.Quote

Not sure what all the complaining is about, if Mick's sick, he's sick. At least folks got a heads up...I remember being in line ALL DAY for Amsterdam #2 in 2003 before finding out. Man that one hurt...had to live with only 5 shows!
San Jose was heartbreaking at the time. I was sick as a dog but drove into the arena anyway...only to find Mick didn't care to join me. To be fair he made it up with 2 make-up shows...which were Pro-Shot gigs. I assume it will be San Jose '99 out of the vault eventually...that tour is somehow overlooked (despite being outstandingly good...and an arena tour...and CHEAP).

Self-absorbed attention seekers...the lovely woman in cougar pants should have no problem recouping her expenses.

It's means a lot to people, a more detailed explanation as to why there could be no reschedule would maybe have generated some more understanding from disappointed fans.

Excuse me but The Rolling Stones played Rod Laver Arena one hour drive from Hanging Rock in Melbourne, on Wednesday the same week. If I was a big fan and I could not miss them I would have seen them at the Rod Laver Arena. Hanging Rock was the tourist show. Let us admit that. Wine, hotel, packages, thousands of dollars. Mick has lost his voice on EVERY TOUR since 1998. It is not a big surprise really. The guys are 70+ so don't take any show for granted. It is still only rock'n roll.[/quote
If you could only get tickets for Hanging rock then a midweek show in Melbourne might as well be on the other side of the globe. Anyway, I feel a lot of empathy for these fans, won't say anymore as have said all I need to say. I have a lot of respect for you, enjoy the rest of the tour, wish I could have seen more shows this tour but have great memories of Adelaide.
