I can not understand it, 'cause I always consider myself a rather rational guy, but once
again I get a feeling of arousal when I read bv's reports from the rehearsals.
How these guys manage to still achieve this? It's beyond me.
But I am happy.

Wish all you guys down under the best! Enjoy every minute.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

What they rehearse and play are usually two different things.Lets hope they don't play it safe and do the usual warhorses.Set lists have become rather boring and predictable to say the least.Hope they follow the example of Dylan and radically alter stuff.

They always rehearse a vast number of "obscure" songs - to be ready to do a couple of these numbers when they feel like it.

This rehearsing day sounds a lot like one of the rehearsals in Oslo, where they blasted through a lot of rarities, with the You Gotta Move-jam with Mick Taylor as the highlight.

Sorry, Dylan's setlists this year, as great as the shows were, did not vary at all apart from one or two songs and often, night after night in the same venue, not at all.....

I wish they rehearse "Citadel", "Time Waits For No One,"Coming Down Again"; "Flight 505, "Plundered My Soul" and "I Love You Too Much"and bring this songs on stage.

The rehearsals finished early today, because they did an efficient run-through of songs we will hear soon on the real stage. I assume. Happy played two times during different parts of the run-through. Most interesting song tonight was BROWN SUGAR. The saxophone sounded great so I am looking forward to see if it is Tim or "the new guy" who will do it on Saturday.

Everybody is in a great mood and they sound like they are ready to hit the Adelaide Oval stage now.

Off for a VB and a bite, list of songs rehearsed coming soon.

When Tim played the BS sax solo last time in Sydney (don't know where Bobby was?) it was not good at all. I'm guessing that the new guy will play Bobby's parts as he's a big fan who's got a rock n roll background.

Happy, Born To Make Me Run, You Got The Silver, those are the money songs for KR. Taylor should play rhythm on Happy when they do it, Ronnie's part doesn't help Keith much. Can't be Seen, is not as good a song.
you do not appreciate Ronnie's killer solo on the lap steel when the stones do happy ?

Taylor is not on Ain't Too Proud To Beg and Loving Cup, Gregor.

He only played on Country Honk and Live With Me on Let it Bleed. Brian probably only played autoharp on You Got The Silver and (supposedly) some drum on Midnight Rambler.

With the exception of "Time Waits For No One," probablyno other song would really work on stage.

I'd prefer a realistic choice of songs never played live: "Heart of Stone", and another rendition of "Lady Jane" which they played only once in London.

Heart Of Stone was done 2 or 3 times live on The Licks Tour 2002, including the Clubshow in Toronto Palais Royal august 16, 2002.

I think he's referring to the Taylor era + 1 on LIB. That makes it 9 for Taylor, 2 for Brian and 6 for Ron.

No worries Bard smileys with beer I'm very impressed with your song by song knowledge!!! As the 2 songs you point out belong to IORR & EOMS respectively, whilst Taylor was a member throughout, I just presumed he played on them ! I know Keith didn't have much input to 'Sway' but beyond that I don't have your forensic knowledge of who played on what....

All the best,

Gregor

I'm not suprised. In the run up to the Oslo show, she was pretty much a permanent fixture outside Grampy's Hotel, chain smoking. She was frequently asked by autograph hunters and photographers about Charlie but, quite rightly, was having none of it. A crowd of several IORRians, (including me and Crawdaddy) gathered across the road and saw her plus Mick Taylor and some of the crew going in and out. IIRC Crawdaddy scooped some pics with Chuck!

Inside the Teleonor on showday she walked around the inside of the catwalk taking shots of the crowd in the minutes leading up to showtime.

Makes me wonder what actually is the cash value of a signature of a Rolling Stone child/grandchild... One of those things I really can't understand in fandom of the Rolling Stones, making such a big deal about their offspring. Anyway, nice to hear that the girl in question has some of the dignity of her grandfather, unlike, say, the Richards girls who seem to love so much the attention and spotlight provided by their dad among the Rolling Stones fans.

I think we should leave Charlotte alone, I mean not discuss her whereabouts here. She is a private person. She does not want to be some sort of a public attraction or rock star with inside info about Charlie or the band. She likes to talk to normal people about normal things, but the problem is that many are looking for an advantage.
