I've been hooked on Cream just as long as I have the Stones. I find Clapton a bit boring but I do like Jack Bruce's playing and solo stuff. Songs for a Tailor & Silver Rails are superb albums, up there with the Stones stuff imo.

Come right after The Stones. The Doors were kind of the American Stones with their charismatic singer with a bit of sexual ambiguity. Plus the Doors years (mostly) overlap with the Mick Taylor era
