Still no mention of Live '75 on Blu Ray? I wonder what that's all about?

Isn't this one of those video gigs? As in not film, so it can't be high definition. So we are getting a glorified VHS release from the master tapes right?

Some Japanese writer, who saw the official release of LA 75 to write thousand words of liner notes, says "some scenes are familiar in the underground world, but angles and editing is quite different from those bootlegs, and of course clearness & sound is far more better, so it is almost never-seen experience even for hard-core fans."

BTW, clothes of each dates in LA Forum 1975 were already identified by HeartbreakerPL here.[IORR]
According to the post, Mick wore green at 12th. So date of film seems 11th.

Amazon UK has the vinyl/DVD set available for preorder now. It's worth preordering if you're going to get it, if the price drops at all you only pay the lowest price. I preordered the Hampton set a few weeks ago and it dropped to £19! Bargain. Enjoy.

It is more difficult to turn it in a MP3-file ... to play it on more applications than on a DVD-player.

It's pretty easy to rip the audio from a dvd?

I've always used DVD Audio Extractor to rip audio from DVD's...has worked great for many years!

I use Polderbit Sound Recorder for my pc and Wire Tap for my mac.

Has anyone noticed on UK Amazon the DVDs are listed as NTSC but below it states region 2 (which is europe etc)

Yes, PAL or NTSC is no problem for DVD. Only region codes.

It seems it won't be released on blu-ray. From the Stones' website:

On 17 November 2014, Eagle Rock Entertainment release From The Vault - LA Forum – Live In 1975 by the Rolling Stones. This is the second release From The Vault, which is a new series of live concerts from the Rolling Stones’ archive which are getting their first official releases. This is a simultaneous release on DVD, DVD+2CD and DVD+3LP [Cat Nos EREDV1053, EAGDV038, ERDVLP084].

It was produced on video back in the day... video means this will be a glorified VHS release. If it was shot on film (far more expensive) they could scale it to HD or even 4K easily. So no bluray on this one. The DVD format can handle all the data from the video just fine, and has the channels for propert audio. It'll be a fun release!

Usually when there is video content on a DVD , they resort to compressed audio .... especially in the case of surround sound / multi-channel audio.

Usually there is a stereo PCM (uncompressed) channel, but you are right about the surround sound being AC3/DD. Personally I keep a FLAC archive of every single Stones release on my RAID5 backup. It is a joy to listen to any particular release in pristine quality. Stereo flac can be played back on prettymuch anything but I can't say the same thing for surround sound.

I will be very curious to see how this release ends up.....

This confusion comes from Amazon, not from the Stones. Exchange the word "Dvds" with "discs" and you got the same information you get from the official stones site. The first amazon article says "DVD + 2 CD (3DVDs), not 2 cd + 3 DVD.

These are BOTH video releases, Hampton and LA Forum. Yet, Hampton IS being released on Blu Ray, and LA Forum is not. That's where the questions come in. What's the difference in soundtracks between the Hampton TV Special, and the LA Forum video? (And we still don't know why the LA Forum show was shot on videotape, not film).
