There's a 30-second preview for the full box-set on this link (click on "tracks" to listen to the tracks and on "hörprobe" to change the CDs): [www.thalia.de]

Thank you for the link!

2 remarks :

- apparently it's the well-known and "bootlegged to death" version. They did erase Bob's chuckle at the beginning.

- whoever mixed this should be slapped in the face : Bob's not-that-interesting piano playing and painfully atonal harmonica lines are mixed way up while Mick Taylor's superb slide are buried in the mix... Beyond silly!

Thank you very much! I first saw it being retweeted, but then I saw it was you who first broke the news.

I just finished listening, but even from those 30-second snippets I already have some favorites. That piano solo on Green Green Gras of Home is one of the most beautiful musical pieces I've ever heard.

Kemper left Dylan's band in late 2001 and was replaced by Recili in early 2002.

Interviewed Bootleg Series co-producer Steve Berkowitz the other day about sourcing and assembling the new 1980s Dylan set with heaps of Mick Taylor, and he had a lot to say.

Here's the review feature of the set on The Arts Desk while the transcript of the interview's on my Art Poetry Music wordpress site ...

It seems trivial to point this out, but today, Sept 11 is also the 20th Anniversary of the release of "Love and Theft" which I think is one of the best things Bob has ever done.

It’s definitely one of his best and the fact that it debuted on 9/11 is yet another example of how deeply woven into history his works are. I’ll never forget him dropping Murder Most Foul in the early days of CoVid-19 quarantine and how it was like a life line to me in that very uncertain and scary time. I was lying in bed in the dark, doom scrolling on my phone when it was unexpectedly tweeted out with “…Stay safe, stay observant and may God be with you.” It blew my mind, to say the least. I can mark so many events of my life by what album and tour Bob was on at the time. He is the timeless oracle.

I can think of hearing the opening lines of "Lonesome Day Blues" the first time and thinking that he unknowingly captured the essence of 9/11.

I was able to get a promo poster at a Tower Records which was basically the album cover pic/design, but also with "In Stores September 11" across the bottom.
Lived with that cd on repeat for a couple months, and it always takes me back to the time period surrounding 9-11 whenever I listen to it.

even more so on 'Honest with Me'. The imagery in some of the lines is downright eerie

'Well, I'm stranded in the city that never sleeps'

'I'm avoidin' the south side, the best I can'

'The Siamese twins are comin' to town'

LOL! Really? You think?

The Dylan Hours radio show [www.885fm.org] is currently doing a "Love and Theft" themed show. They just played three versions of "Mississipi"
