Hi , I'm coming over to New York for some of The Beacon Theatre shows .
Will he play a more varied set list at these shows ?
He recently played 3 nights in Prague and the setlists were almost identical..

He plays the same setlist every night. It changes occasionally but don't expect it. In the past, he plays like 10 nights at the Beacon and its exactly the same every night.

changes in the setlist (during the same leg of the NET) are rare these days but the overall sound changed at lot since he changed his band at the beginning of this leg to the tour. Some songs that haven't been performed for a while returned to the set and a featured in new versions (Lenny Bruce and Not Dark Yet)

Great news as I was just this week making some plans to visit Japan around that time now I will definitely go.
I have heard it can be difficult as a foreigner to get concert tickets in Japan, anyone here has any experience of this?

Thanks

Nate

I had the pleasure of seeing Dylan over the weekend in South Bend Indiana.A great show I gotta say.The uptempo material really rocked and the ballads sounded sweet.A fine band backing up Bob.

Travelin' Through was already boring. I wonder what these outtake will sound like – even more boring…
(they are just releasing this stuff to avoid these recording becoming public domain - EU law has it that every recording becomes public domain if it is not been commercially used within 50 years)

Aah...so we should expect CS Blues (single) before too long?

theoretical: yes.
practical: maybe not – either they claim that the very very short snippet in 25x5 has been a commercial use. Or they just let it slip by and CS Blues becomes public domain

"In the tradition of the New Basement Tapes, Bob Dylan recently lent some vintage lyrics to the single Gone, But Not Forgotten. Produced by T Bone Burnett and created by Jingle Jared + Poo Bear, the single is available everywhere now. You can hear it on the podcast Bear and a Banjo, which is the fictional story of two musicians making their way through America."

So far this s a pretty good song list - I ruled out Hurricane (Carter the boxer) although it is a great song but political in nature.

Brillant review, thanks spike.

I was there last week. Brought me to tears in all it's "layer upon layer of weirdness," as the reviewer put it. Truly a sublime experience.

I'm sure this is old hat to most of you Bob-a-philes but I just came across it this morning and my god what a read!

Q&A With Bill Flanagan (upon the release of Triplicate)

I know it's an overused term but this dude Dylan is seriously a national treasure. He is both trickster and shaman and his nearly encyclopedic (though delivered in a typically psychedelic off-kilter manner) knowledge of American music is stunning.

What we will have lost -- musically and culturally -- once he is no longer among the living. In a very real sense - at least to me - he carries a torch for a certain idea about America ... I almost can't bear the thought of that torch flickering and then lapsing into forever darkness.
