Seeing as he did add a new string of shows at the Beacon to the itinerary, there's still a chance he will add more - specifically some shows in California!

"Watch this page on bobdylan.com for updates. All information is subject to change". - thumbs up

very very unlikely – the line "watch this page…" is alaways there.
If you look a the schedule of this leg of his tour – staring in Phoenix/AZ, heading east and ending in Philly – it's very unlikely that shows in California will be added.
and By the way: with some 40 shows it's already one of the longest legs of the NET

Deja vu as I think we had nearly the exact same conversation a while back....

Ah yes, it was just over a month ago and two pages back.

complete dates for the US fall tour (Oct 4 - Nov 11) have been just announced
[www.bobdylan.com]

Complete dates?

None yet listed for California, with Phoenix AZ being the closest dang it.
High time he comes back here as it's been a couple of years - the Santa Barbara Bowl w/Mavis Staples (what a great show), and then the Desert Trip shows.

"Watch this page on bobdylan.com for updates. All information is subject to change".

Hoping for a few west coast shows - come on Bob! thumbs up

I would not count on that – the US fall tour usually kicks off in early October and runs thru mid November. Thus it's unlikely that more dates will be added (especially not in September). The line "watch this page on bobdylan.com…" is always there…

Not counting on anything when it comes to Bob, and realize the "watch this page" is always there.
Was just a hope and a wish, and chances are very good he will return here again...someday. After all, this is where he calls home (when he's not on the road).
And if not this tour, then probably after it - maybe another multi-night residency somewhere in the SoCal area as he's done in the past - the Dolby Theater a few years ago, the Wiltern Theater in 2002, etc., etc

Perhaps you're right, but you could be wrong...now that he's added a string of shows at the Beacon, anything is possible.

"Watch this page on bobdylan.com for updates. All information is subject to change". thumbs up

yeah, but he doesn't have travel thousand of miles to add a few more shows at the east coast

Has Bob ever cancelled a concert because of throat problems?
Just a thought as his vocals are certainly a desired taste these days.

No, as far as I know. Acctually he only cancelled very few shows during the last 30 years or so (except for 1997 when he had to cancelled his European summer tour due to a heart infection)

His vocals have been fine in recent years (much better than in the early 90s)

"On 18th September 1974, Bob Dylan was back in A & R Studios in New York for the third day of recording Blood on the Tracks. Engineer and studio chief Phil Ramone was busy mixing tracks pulled to master from the previous two days, and pedal steel player Buddy Cage was brought in to add overdubs on a few of the takes. As far as recording goes, this was the least productive day of the four. Bob had a go at recording ‘Buckets of Rain’ under the gaze of Mick Jagger in the control room, but abandoned it after four attempts. He left the studio early to go watch a concert and think about what he needed to do the following day to get the album he was hearing in his head."

6 discs, 87 songs, only 13 different ones grinning smiley . All 10 from Blood On The Tracks then 3 others (Up To Me, Spanish Is The Loving Tongue, Call Letter Blues).

I don't know Dylan sessions or archives so I don't know whats better or how the boxes could be better, but hey I'm game for if this is simply the complete Blood On The Tracks sessions. Looks like a cool box. Did he really JUST have these 10 songs basically throughout the entire sessions?

Fantastic - multiple versions of multiple songs...like a puzzle. Bootlegs aside, it will now be possible to listen to Blood on the Tracks in an infinite number of ways in pristine fashion.
That said, there's always ways to make these things better, but will be a nice addition to all the other bootleg series nevertheless.

No One Else Could Play That Tune

The Making and Unmaking of Bob Dylan’s 1974 Masterpiece
Wanted Man Study Series: Take II ~ Vol.1

Author: Clinton Heylin

In 1974, Bob Dylan broke several years of domestic retreat by taking to the road for the first time since 1966. With his marriage crashing down and a new girlfriend by his side, he had notebooks bursting with a set of new songs. Within days of re-signing for Columbia Records in September 1974, he returned to the studio where he had recorded his first six albums – Studio A-1 in New York. In three epic sessions, he recorded his masterpiece three times over. Test Pressings of the results were cut and distributed to a select few lucky souls. Come Christmastime, Bob Dylan had a change of heart and entered Sound 80 Studio in Minnesota to rerecord 5 of the 10 tracks that featured on the album Blood On The Tracks, much to the disappointment of those who’d heard the originals.

In the first of a new incarnation of the Wanted Man Study Series, Clinton Heylin’s monograph tells the story of the ‘New York’ Blood On The Tracks filtered through the searing lens of hindsight with the full session tapes as witness.

Re the new expanded "Blood On The Tracks" release does anyone know why the tapes of the "Minneapolis Sound 80" sessions still exist only as fragments?

EDIT :
"My opinion about the NY sessions is that he recorded 12 amazing songs, every song works and it is awesome separatelyl, every song works as an individual song, But when you put all the songs together, just like in the test pressing... the whole thing doesn't work.

He did the trick in MN. He recorded again 5 of the songs under another perspective and another feeling... and the mix of the five MN tracks with the five NY tracks becomes a masterpice.

I'm sure the best takes of MN are into BOTT, but I want to hear how he prosecutes the good one in MN. A completist edition of BOTT sessions must include the MN tapes. This BS14 it's not about BOTT, it's about the NY sessions.

To be honest, I don't believe that the MN tapes are lost. Obviously I don't have any proof. But I'm pretty sure Bob knows where are these tapes"

Bob most certainly is a desired taste! He has the most beautiful voice in the history of man. Maybe that's why nearly everyone tries to imitate him. hot smiley
