Would have been a stronger album if they put So Young on it!

I just really don't like this album. I find it very badly recorded, and it is very much a 'concept' album, with the Stones trying too hard to sound like the Stones. Strangely the only songs I like are Sweethearts Together and Mean Disposition. All else of fodder.

Blah blah blah blah. Always complaining.

Great album, maybe their last full album as band (B2B was two solo albums combined and ABB was a Mick's solo album with Keith on guitar with Charlie and Ronnie playing their part at deadline), 1994 was a great year for music, one of the last before the R&B/Rap buried the rock from the mainstream radio or tv forever.

VOODOO LOUNGE GOT ME ROCKING AGAIN after the lame Steel Wheels (Check out the raw outtakes bootleg....) release and boring Dirty Work.
It was a long time from 1983 UNDER COVER till VOODOO LOUNGE, but we got Talk Is Cheap and Wandering Spirit in 1988 and 1992 to keep THE FAITH.

<<I was never a huge fan of the Seattle grunge scene (too much angst)>>
If you've ever seen the documentary film Hype, this point is addressed and even explained: The sun doesn't shine all that much in that Northwest corner of the U.S. Consequently, Seattle has the highest proportion of depression and suicide in addition to alcoholism as well as the greatest number of serial killers originating from there. The skies are often gray and gloomy and hence the angst is in the air, almost like a toxic molecular chemical from of the Periodic Table of Elements. Seattle is the Berlin of the U.S.

I still like The Worst and Moon Is Up, and found LIS to be one of their strongest singles in a long time when it came out.
Yeah, there is something about Sweethearts Together indeed.

I think B2B is far far superior to Voodoo Lounge.

B2b is far better than Voodoo, they used to play 5 songs alive:
-Anybody seen my baby?
-Flip the switch
-Out of control
-Saint of me
-Thief in the night
All them worked very well, except maybe Anybody seen my baby?
