It's All Over Now

Great job on this song. Nice solo. Is that Keith playing it? Can't see in the video.

It is Keith! Don't know why he didn't do it in '94.

That was cool but he isn't doing the double-string bends like last night as a nod to the original. Just makes me sit up and take notice.

So, a couple of days later, back from Belgium and back on the workplace, German writer an comedian Karl Valentin (1882 – 1942) comes to my mind:
„It has all been said – just not yet by everybody.“ So here´s my "Festival in Werchter":
Up at 6 in the morning, coffee, off to airport, destination Bruxelles. Train to Leuven, bus to Werchter. I arrived while the Freebees were playing, liked them to some extend. Seasick Steve was „interesting“, but not as great as I had hoped. Arno may have zillions of fans – I´m not one of them. I like many of the artists that might have influenced him (Waits, Herman Brood), how he mixes all that is not my cup of tea. Triggerfinger were cool, the beer and the sparkling wine did their job, psycho rock n´roll on an festival stage – winner. The Simple Minds didn´t work for me for the same reason illegal drugs don´t work for me – I hate flashbacks. I´m so glad the 80ies are over (esp. music-wise), I don´t need no Champagne-socialist in an suit, unable to dance and to entertain, singing soundtrack songs and protest anthems. That is just my opinion.
The RS gig was very special for me. Womack tribute, Wild Horses, YGTS, baby, what a wonderful selection. MJ was completely above all, extraorinary to me. He had to fight to win the audience (…) over – and he did. Come rain or high stage, I loved every note and every move. His smiles after talking in Dutch language (please excuse a possible „error" here) – best faces of show! Mr Watts smiled. At lest two times. Nuff said. MT shouldn´t be kept as a one trick pony in my opinion. Maybe he doesn´t need a starring role (maybe he does…), but MR over and over again (and some sad strumming on Satisfaction) shouldn´t be all the fans get to witness (again: just my opinion!). Mr Wood must have gone to an acting school, what he delivered was close to slapstick (faces, moves). Great sound, excellent playing anyway. Mr Richards seemed a little bit, well, let´s say there were better days over the last decades. He is Prince Charming on stage, smiling at MJ, at Lisa Fisher (watching him watching her is always a pleasure), hugging MT, simply great. Playing wise I think it wasn´t his best show. Timing in CBS completely ooc (…), playing the same solo in every song. To me he seemed a tiny little out of touch on some takes. Still THE MAN anyway. After Landgraaf, Berlin and Vienna this was my last concert of the tour – and maybe my last RS concert at all. Oversea travels are not on the list (family – my son has his first birthday today, money, time …), new European gigs aren´t on a list I know of either. Million things left unsaid...

Cheers, Fillmore.

1 Hour 5 Minutes @ Werchter

A great show by both Keith and Ronnie. Maybe the best, or most consistent one, so far? thumbs up

To me it looks like he was thinking of the rain. Didn't somebody write, it started raining during MR and that he "played" with the rain?

I love Keith's solo in It's All Over Now. I'm listening to this performance of the song again and again right now.

The Midnight Rambler in Werchter:

aren't you the guy who once had all those
amazing bootleg videos on youtube? cheers!
Yep, but then ABKCO decided that nobody would attend a show anymore because of the hundreds of songs on my channel (LOL!), so it was shut down.....

as if ABCKO would give a flying f**k what's going on with the
latter-day Stones. they may sync their re-rereleases with the
tours, that's it. but today and below google, it's all a big
conglomerate where's just no place for the boot legging man. no.
are you gonna be in stockholm?

Yeah, that was during MR, he was coming out to the catwalk to do the 'break', just when it started to rain a bit harder... after that he put on the hat.

We left Amsterdam around 9:00 am for TW Classic Festival with the Stones as headliners. In Leuven we took the bus that passed the Stella Artois brewery and drove towards the countryside of Werchter. I enjoyed Seasick Steve and Arno, TriggerFinger did a great performance and they know how to rock. While walking around I had fun looking at a great variety of people of the young and old. At 21.30, I got myself a good spot as close as 15 meters to the stage while waiting for The Stones who started with the intro+Jumping Jack Flash at 22.30. Happy surprised with Wild Horses and a great tribute to Bobby Womack's "It's All Over Now", this cover by The Rolling Stones in 1964 blew me away at the time. Midnight Rambler was outstanding with Mick Taylor. The Stones performed a great show here in Werchter, I enjoyed every second of their show while watching and dancing.

Thanks to the busline 1.

Since saturday my son (10 year) wears his Stonesshirt with proud and says he will keep his 'golden circle' band forever on his wrist. He even didn't change for an orange shirt at the WCgame. It is really thanks to the great concert of the Stones he is a fan now. Before this, he knew the music but also had resistance because I love the Stones so much.once you see the Stones live, you'r on!spinning smiley sticking its tongue out
Thanks for all the kind words about this.
It was my last concert of the europian tour but I heard from chairman dutch fanclub there will probably two concerts in Ziggodome next spring. So...
