I'm so sad to hear about my friend Bobby Womack ~ the man who could make you cry when he sang has brought tears to my eyes with his passing.

My heart goes out to his family & friends and everyone who loved his music. Bobby you will be greatly missed xx

I would think there is a chance that It's All Over Now gets dusted off and played in the setlist tonight. Just a guess but it would be a nice tribute.

According to Wikipedia, the Valentinos version of 'It's All Over Now' entered the Billboard Hot 100 on June 27, 1964 - exactly 50 years before .....

They played "It's All Over Now" last time at Werchter, in 2007. Maybe again tonight or the show after.

So Sad.

Always remember as a 12 year old Stones fan and loving ,'It's all Over Now ' , by The Stones.
Couple of years later heard The Valentinos' version and couldn't stop listening to it after recording it on a little Phillips cassette tape recorder off the radio.

Still got that tape somewhere, 50 years later.

RIP Bobby sad smiley

It was played last year as well during one of the U.S. dates, with John Fogerty guesting.

Another loss to the world of original and real r&b and soul. WTF, if you're gonna lament about him passin', give a listen to some of the stuff he did and groove on.

And, around the same time as Lookin', this groove came out by someone else, but it works with Womack's song well.

And the Womack name (Bobby's relations) attached to a Stones song. Love this version.

Was at the Rod Stewart concert in Munich last night. Rod told the audience that the last time he met his friend Bobby, Bobby told him that he will record Downtown Train from Tom Waits. Obviously that never happened. So Rod played Downtown Train as a Tribute to Bobby Womack last night in Munich!

there's a more than fitting tribute song.
the Stones reacted fast and the impromptu
performance came off great, judging by the video.

RIP

and Keef did a more than amazing solo on it, nobody can deny!
won't say anything about Fogerty's guitar contribution, though

edit: didn't anybody notice that Keef wore this jacket already back in 2013?

What in the hell is Fogerty doing there beside a "Look, we have a guest" appearance? Would've been very cool if the Stones and Fogerty had worked out a classic Fogerty swamp rock arrangement for his appearance. Oh, well. As it is, I have to wonder if Fogerty is seeing the same hair colorist as Mick and McCartney.

If you pull the above video up on Youtube there's a more classic version of this song listed in the right sidebar:

If you haven't seen the TAMI show, find it and give it a go. It's got some classic sets by some really good performers/musicians and some folks that will make you go WTF. But, it's still a great look at the budding youth and music movement of the 1960s.
