I thought the entire concert was great from start to finish.
The energy from the band was immense. If I had to pick just a few highlights, it must be:

Jumpin' Jack Flash - Greatest opening song in the world.
Worried About You - Ronnie played a fantastic solo.
Street Fighting Man - A raw, sharp and solid version with loud guitars. Great jamming at the end. Could have kept it going forever. Should be played at every show!
Gimme Shelter - One of the best versions I've ever heard. Lisa was outstanding. The band was on fire. What a groove! Played it longer than usual.

Thanks watterrats and all others for your great reviews, pictures and clips!!!
These last pics with Bobby K. are a bit worrying me. He seems to have lost a lot of weight. Maybe on purpose, which could be good. Hope he's doing OK, but must remember he is 70 just like Keith...
Great show Dusseldorf judging from all comments. Would like to have been there!
See some of you in Werchter maybe!

Have to give Ronnie credit for sort of holding this together. When they get off course Keith mistakes verse 2 for verse 3 or something and plays the climb too early. Still Richards remains reckless and doesn't let the flubs keep him from crushing the outro. Maybe a little long for Mick's liking but that Tele is barking in the end. The last minute is worth the price of admission. So few guitarists use their classic axes, easy to forget.

Just back from Dusseldorf, did not read any previous reviews as not to get biased.

I thought this was a fantastic show. Powerful and loud. Sharp guitars. Keith perhaps the best I have heard him since 40 licks or even before. Worried about you may have been less smooth than in Zurich, but all the rest was superb. JJF, SFM, OOC... even SFD - at one point Ronnie had to change his guitar and Keith played alone, but with what a force! And BS - so much energy...

From the 4 shows I have seen this tour so far, this was clearly the best.

Thanks to everyone for the pics and videos, fantastic. I love Bobby in the hat--is it me, or is Mick starting to look thinner than usual, though?

A "former insider" had commented on that at the time of the "London Rehearsals" thread and I must say I found him really skinny the other day in Paris when he walked by on the catwalk a couple of meters away, his legs particularly. Well that's what running will do to you if you're the right type and we know Mick is ;-) Bobby is a bit more sudden I must say and his face looks like it's "melting" away...seems to be in a good shape judging by how hard he plays the sax though!

@All - thanks for the reports and the great pics!

Yes, I didn't mean to imply that Mick looked ill, just thin! He seems to be in great shape overall.

He wore that same black top and jeans outfit in the earlier shows this year and I don't think he looks much skinnier now than he did then.

Just back at my hotel - totally knackered. To get to the front of the PIT required queuing from 3 pm, so standing until midnight. Phew. 9 hours non stop. German transport system back was excellent. Danke Schon Angela.

I'd bumped into Bernard F in the street yesterday evening and he commented, when asked, how the band was playing really well. Tonight demonstrated that Mr Fowler is a master of the understatement.

There were a few "mistakes" - incuding one from Mick on Brown Sugar. Any slip caused smiles and support from the rest of the band. Keith even said "follow me" during Can't be Seen - after I think his teleprompter stopped. Did they all forget how to end SFM?

But as I've said before, that cameraderie and looseness is what makes a great band, its what the Stones are all about. You can keep the clinically perfect arrangements and performances for Pink Floyd or One Direction.

If tonight was any pointer (or one direction....), the Stones are entering another awesome phase. Yes the setlists might be a bit more limited (very good tonight and a couple of surprises - but I'd have liked Sing This All Together - honest!).

But the spirit; the performance; the glances and asides; the power and looseness - all the things that separated the Stones from others who played the same type of music ; they are all on maximum volume through the drive channel.

Add in Mick as ever the consumate performer; Keith on brilliant form (and so so powerful in the open-tuning numbers); Ronnie playing manically (was he on heat or something else) and Charlie grinning like a cat. Awesome.

A couple of words about the terrible two who people on this forum love to hate. Chuck was playing some delightful stuff, especially on Miss You. He has a little less of a leader role when the rest are on this form, maybe giving him space to stretch out a bit. Lisa must have been reading some of the schoolboy comments here. She was belting it out in Germany; really top performance. No question she cuts the mustard (as we Brits say).

On this form its a pity they finish Europe in only a couple of weeks - they really should carry on. Passion like this cannot be wasted.

Oh and as usual I met some very nice folks - especially the Dutch couple behind me and Terje (I think thats how it is spelt). I enjoyed sharing such a great evening.

Just a +1
Agree and you even got a strange name right! Luv You.smileys with beer
Only thing you forgot was to mention Amy/Dwight Yoakam, LOL.
You know they ran late when you can't get their songs outyahead for a day or two. I miss Amy more and more!

...And I'm thinking: What's coming next - after Australia? There must be a life for the Stones when the big stadium tours are over. Rock on? Growing old gracefully? I suggest: try both!

A South American 2015 Tour????

Btw, thanks for your nice show review!
