six hour concert at the Noreik Club

This actually happened. My band The Spartans were the support band and we kicked the night off at 12 Midnight. The Stones went on at 12:30 and played till 1:00 A.M. The Spartans went on at 1:00 a.m. and played until 1:30 A.M. Both bands did half an hour each and The Stones did the last bracket between 5:30 and 6:00 A.M. The Spartans supported The Stones three times. The other times we worked with them was at the 59 Club, Hackney and The State Ballroom Kilburn. I hope this clears up the doubt of whether The Stones worked that long. They certainly earned their money that night. On the second occasion we were with them, all their amplifiers packed up and they used all our Selmer Zodiac amps. Brian Jones played through my Selmer amp which, incidentally, I still have. Regards, Gerry Kirk, Sydney, Australia.

28th December 1963 : London, Club Noreik, Tottenham, ‘All Night Rave’

The Spartans

I guess in those days The Stones already had a name for themselves, but still hadn't got to the dizzy heights of a bit later. >grinning smiley<

To pasc95. I have a signed autographed copy of their promotional photo with their signatures on it with their record release details on the reverse side which includes The Beatles song " I wanna Be Your Man ". Incidentally, my younger brother Darryl Kirk, who used to be the tour accountant for the Scorpions, was a very close friend of The Beatles. He got the advertising contract for them when they formed Apple Records. Unfortunately, he was killed in a car crash in Hawaii in 1985. Gerry Kirk.
