Very nice. I had a hard time telling from the video, who handled the sax solo. Bobby or Tim?

It looks like Tim at 4:12.

Check out Keith's hammer on's at 3:50 and his clean playing. He is starting to look very loose on stage, he will have a great night pretty soon..

My quick review:

I was close to the stage and to me it sounded like Start me up - very good in compatison to Brown Sugar in Zurich.

Highlights:
- weather and micks and keiths good mood!!!
- Gimme Shelter, wow Lisa!
- Midnight Rambler, they invented a new part, awesome
- Jumpin Jack Flash, wow that was loud
- Steve Tyler from Aerosmith walking by

Lowlight:
- Sympathy :-( really, what is chuck doing to this song? I was close to tears. Sad sad sad.

See you in Düsseldorf!

Thanks, the intro is indeed a bit off, not as "bad" as HP1 and HP2 but it lasts a couple of bars more. Just before the "tight maneuver" between Mick and Keith aptly described in Dean Goodman's excellent (as usual) review on the IORR home page.

Having breakfast. What a fantastic night that was. Unfortunately this was my only European date. Oh man, I so wish I could go to some more. In hope that the boys will come back to London in the near future. I absolutely loved Out of Control. This is the only band that has made me appreciate a song I never much cared for a definite proof of their greatness and an explanation of their staying powerhot smiley

Is that Paul Simon in the middle? Ah no, must be Klaus Meine, wow...time hasn't been on his side :-(

@Muenke - Sounds good, thanks! Ah, Taylor to play on Keith's second song maybe?

Is that Rudy Schenker then on the left?

He sort of looks like Mick Jagger in that SNL skit from 2 years ago.

Tim Ries had a great saxophone solo on Waiting On A Friend. I remember I said to myself I had to write a report from the Waldbühne show just to document this song, the Tim Ries solo, the intro by Lisa, and the rest of the show of course.

And... all the close contact Mick and Keith had last night. I have seen it coming more and more through the tour this summmer, starting with some friendly Mick-bumping by Keith in Oslo, then they have more contact on stage sort of show by show. During Out Of Control last night at the Waldbühne, they just met in the front of the stage during "rush hours" in and out, I made 5 or 6 photos of it, they are all pretty unclear from the camera, one of them are on the reports pages, but the moment will be crystal clear in my memory for ages, one of the best memories from the Stones at Waldbühne 2014 actually.

As I am now in the fly-home-between shows mode for Berlin, Paris and Vienna, and I will not be able to write the report until later, but it is coming soon.

I noticed that as well ... It was nice to see! They even had a Little "Crash" during the first seconds of SMU ...

Thank you for posting this beautiful version of Waiting On A Friend.
It is my new favorite. Tim Reise played a wonderful solo. The song really sounds better than ever. I watched your video several Tim and I can hear Ronnie adding little fils, Keith actually played a nice little mini solo of his own at the end. Just wow.

I doubt that. He's been wearing stage make up for forever, and that includes lipstick. Nothing unusual in that, all of them wear it. We just don't see it that close up and it's a brighter shade than usual.

Thanks all, as always, for the wonderful reports, pics, and videos. smiling smiley

Sympathy For The Devil.

Before Keith's second solo (which sounds great), Chuck Leavell is just about to mislead the band and have the song collapse, but fortunately tthe rest of the band stood by the structure of the song and sorted it out in a few seconds.

Doesn't anyone else think that Lisa should stop teasing Keith in the middle of the solo? It's beyond my comprehention why they allow such a clownish approach to this very dramatic song. It sounds very anticlimatic, and that's excactly the opposite of what the song should be (in my opinion, it should reach its climax in the outro, with the repetition of that strong, superb and majestic riff. Instead of that, nowadays they are often playing some pointless noodling, which is a shame. I hope in Paris we'll get a better rendition of this number. Last year in Hyde Park 1 was the highlight of the show).
