Great show tonight, the best of the 3 I've seen on this tour. Also remarkable achievement in the Tel Aviv heat. No time for a review because I'm very thirsty now.

They should make LSTNT a warhorse. They play it really well these days. Same with OOC. Time to swap MR for that one, with Taylor on guitar?

Agree on LSTNT. It's far more deserving of that status than IORR but I think that issue has been beaten to death.

Whatva show! this show was marked as THE RONNIE WOOD show! damn the crowd loved him.

great interaction between the band. All. including the G twins. Mick Taylor was friengly too. The 4 guitara on stage gave some auperb photo opprtunities the type u put at the front page.

If you don't count Doom & Gloom and Keith's mini set, this must be the tightest Warhorses Setlist ... ever?

Well, there's always some superlative to strive for, I guess.

that's something too.

Angie and GOMC ain't no horses of war.

Doom and Gloom is though!

Ain't thrilled with this list. Oh well

I would imagine 99% of the crowd were though (the 1% not happy being certain IORR members...). Let's be fair here, Tel Aviv has NEVER had a Rolling Stones gig. They have to play the big guns for gigs like this and Abu Dhabi. Looks like they are having a great time doing it as well. Roll on the next gig cool smiley

For which song(s) did they have 4 guitars on stage ? Or do you mean 3 guitars + bass? 4 guitars could have happened if Mick had whipped out the black Strat for Respectable when they had guests. Come to think of it they did have 4 guitars when Mayer and Clark Jr played on "Going Down" at the PPV...

"Shut up already! Damn!". Mick screamed at the band during Midnight Rambler. Priceless.
A great show it was!

The show was just great! Great enthusiastic audience, and great performance. Keith was absolutely on fire tonight... it was hot, really hot... tomorrow on the flight back to Basel I might write a longer review, too thirsty now :-)

There is really no use in discussing the setlists. They all look about the same: 2-4 songs differ in the first half. The Keith bit is a choice out of 4 songs.
The second part is frozen. This is the way the setlist looks and will look for the rest of the tour.

Yea - sorry for not being clear. I meant 3 + Daryl... the kept doing that "stand in line" you usually see with the Eagles.

What a show! Mick Jagger owns this one! He was just un-f*cking-believable. Much better than Hyde Park

Photos and report from the Tel Aviv show here:

A few photos selected here too:

Charlie is laughing because of something Mick said during the presentation of him. Generally a great mood on the stage tonight, many smiles, at one point Keith was observing how energic Mick was, Keith just smiled, he had seen it many times before, but still Keith is amazed by the energy level and all the moves Mick Jagger is doing...

There were people all over the place. It would take me an hour to walk around to trhe back and see if there was an empty space, but yes, it was a packed park, even if the park probably could take more people, if they allowed by security. But it must have been 70,000 or 80,000 or more. A lot.

What a show!!!!

HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT - they could have written a new paragraph to SFTD...

At the beginnig I was worried they might cut the show short. At the end I was happey with the 19 songs as I thought I'm getting too close to dehydration.

The thing that marked the show was:

Great energy between the band members. MJ to KR, MT to all others etc. You could see they were relaxed. MJ teased Keith about something and Keith responded with a kick (friendly).

RONNIE was THE STAR!!! you could see that in MR he wanted to give a good fight to MT - and damn he did! The crowd went crazy about him.

Guitars were very lound - as in Lisbon if I recall the reports.

They knew Israelis are crazy about Balads (and are indifferent to blues...) so added Angie and PIB - both were great but I personally dislike angie so wasnt thrilled. I think there was some social media mini campaign about Angie. Well.. hope they are happy!

IORR was really good for a song I do not like.

GOMC was a mini surprise.

MR was great, as usual, but mostly... hold tight! - for Ronnie!

Keith songs were great and the crowd loved them.

BS is officially the new "scarf me up". Keith opened with the wrong tune.

GS , guitar wise, was great-great-great!!! you could hear the ghost of that magical studios version blend of guitars. I had tears in my eyes. The singing at GS was OK. Israelis never heard the Lisa is for many hardcore fans somewhat... well you know from the other thread. So the cheered their throuts out for her.

TD and HTW - good, as expected. Both have lovely backround video (you know) - and the crowd liked it.

MY - the usual. Daryl did a great bass solo bit.

D&G - OK. People sang it. Its good. Mick replaced some word at the song wish the "Sh%t" word...

JJF - STRANGE version... very electric. In some aspects reminding the early 70s versions. Was a bit longer then usual, I think. They lost the song for sometime in the middle and I think that something was wrong with the mix too.

SFTD - thats a crowd pleaser bla-bla-bla. Keith did OK wihh his tradmank solo.

YCAGWYW - Ronnie rocketed with his solo part - giving a very different solo of what we usually expect. It was then I was sure that people are right - this is the Rinnies rennaisance tour!

Satisfaction - very good version. Solo was OK. Taylor , I think, joined it after it started. I am not sure - but didn't see at the beginning.

He was at the first bow - left with Boby K. before they did the final one. I DO NOT think there is much behind this issue... MT looked really happy with his typical smile. He definetly lost weight.

MJ pleased the crowed with whole phrases in Hebrew, not just the usual word here, word there, you usually get. He said (in Hebrew) that Ronnie bought his shoes "Ba'Shuk" ("In the Market/Bazaar").

Charlie was superb.

No introduction of MT. Just the thanks at the end (for the reference...).

Crowd was great but many people were taken to the paramedics tents. It really reminded me the HP gig's in that aspect. Including the water supply by the ashers. Organization was OK - the opened the gates some 15 minutes late. It was a run for the first 5 rows, but for the rest people came at ease.

The merch was very limited. 2 types of black shirts (one to Tel Aviv, the other a tour shirt). Some 30USD, 22 EU per shirt. No posters. They had posters at the price lists but didn't actually sell them.

Didn't know there are so many RS fans in Israel... well you discover new things from time to time.

Due to my extensive reading at IORR, at the 3-4 hours chit chats with people around me I was seen as some sort of super specialist. So thank you guys for the tons of info you put down here. Told da Mrs. that that discussion board I read at bed with the white pages and obsolete design is responsible for me looking so knowlegable. So maybe now I would get less angry looks when reading it.

Was great - Paris next. God, I haven't asked for much, but please no heat wave. Wont survive a 4th RS gig is a row being in semi dehydration.

I think I will be sick tomorrow. But was worth it. Cheers.

Big surprise to see Paint It Black appear in the show again so soon. I guess Mick's comfortable enough with the subject matter to sing those lyrics again.

This photo isn't sharp, but it is still a great family picture, Mick introducing Keith, still laughing from the joke he told Charlie I think...
