Seems like Mick and Keith are working really well together and it will a rough album....

With regard to Don Was, what does "rough" mean exactly? Those of you who have seen it, what more did they tell than at the press conference? Is it finished by now? Thanks for replying.

the interviews look like the day of the press conference, and Keith says "we're going back down on Monday to finish it." they're talking mainly about the songwriting process and making it in Mick's home (prompting comparisons to Exile), and about how well the Glimmer Twins are working together.
Ronnie says "a lot of the tracks are very earthy" and "lend themselves to being played live", and he compares the sound of one of them (which they show them working on) to the Who and "the Stones being influenced by themselves again". and Mick either says that track is 140 beats per minute, or else i misunderstood what he's muttering. :E

The fact that Mick & Keith are getting on together has got to be the best thing that has happened for the Stones in a long time.

This does sound great....except how many times have we heard this before? We hear it after every album. "Mick and Keith are really working great together..." or "These songs are being begged to be played live..."

I love it...but it is nothing new.

Yeah but would you prefer to read....Mick & Keith aren't getting along and the new songs will sound shit when played live!!

The album will be good. Back to basics. If they prang a few notes while recording I hope they leave them in. I don't want slick tracks. "Oh No Not You Again" was the roughest version of a song I have heard them play since the 81 tour. I hope it stays that way.

Anyway what've we got?
- Mick's clear as ever
- All other three were completely drunk.
- The atmosphere's clearly different and more r'n'r than on the Licks preps. Back then they weren't burpsing and farting into the camera. 'The way of working' is clearly not the only thing that's been reintroduced. If another Exile comes from is, let them be I'd say.
- Keith always wears a hat. It's probably meant to conceal his baldness lol, and it probably has a story to it. I'm waiting for him to tell us his uncle got it from Churchill.
- Ronnie almost always wears sunglasses. Don't wanna know why. But he's energetic and his observations are witty and to the point. CSI, yeah yeah!

I uploaded it - I found a passcode on shidoobee and registered for free.
Now I'm uploading the BS rehearsals :-)
