just seen on the news that fifa have reported viagogo for criminality in regard to resale tickets for this years world cup, they will cancel any ticket sold by viagogo which could have a negative effect on many who plan to go to the world cup and now wont get to see the game and might lose money.
The other negative result is if many tickets are not resold by fifa, many games could have empty seats, which affects the atmosphere inside the stadium. so it seems this corrupt and illegal practice by viagogo could ruin the world cup experience for many.
Im concerned as some of you here are that the same thing could happen with viagogo tickets for stones concerts and im worried that i dont get in or the organisers cancel viagogo tickets.
The world cup organisers have a system that matches ticket number to a fan id, which in turn has personal details and passport details, so in theory anyone who buys a ticket from a non legit source can not get into watch a match, but im not sure what the system is with concert promoters.
ive a got a ticket for standing at the warsaw gig, and a bit worried.
anyone else concerned after the latest news with this corrupt organisation.
thoughts please.

Fair Ticketing Alliance's Scot Tobias Defends Ticket Resellers: 'The Bottom Line Is the Public Loves the Secondary Market'
Where does your company, Worldwide Tickets, get its ticketing inventory from?
There’s what’s called secondary platform traders which buy online where you can do it fairly and legally with legitimate accounts and legitimate agents. We also build relationships with venues, performers and teams and help them with their ticket distribution. It’s very similar to the convenience store business, which provides products like water and bread at a higher price for people who don't want to travel far. Tickets have always been singled out unfairly as an item that needs so much regulation. You can go on a highway and buy a bottle of water for $5 that costs you $2 in a store. But if you buy a ticket for $140 that may have had an original cost of $100, everybody freaks out.

I'm not so sure about this latest development. So basically those 10,000 tickets have already been sold. The Artist has cancelled them, but pocketed the face value money. Made them available to fans again at face value and they have DOUBLED THEIR MONEY ?
I hate Viagogo etc. with a passion, but have never had a problem with your old fashioned "anyone buying or selling?" touts outside the venue. Helped me out a few times over the years and I've never been ripped off of disappointed.
One of our mates was after a PIT B ticket on Tuesday and after a bit of negotiating and walking away got a £450 ticket for £100 an hour before the show !
On the other hand we heard of two elderly ladies who not knowing , went on Google for tickets and the 1st site listed was Viabastard . They thought they would have the best sets because they'd paid £ hundreds , but looked liked nosebleeds to us.
This tour has worked well for the savvy fan ;
Pit twice for £35, and once for £175 Gold Circle well below face and a free upgrade from GA to Gold for 6 of us on Tuesday ! Having a rest for a week and going to work. Roll on more bartering in Cardiff !
EDIT - I've just seen the article again and realised that fans are been refunded and getting replacements, so Viagogo etc are the only losers - well done Ed !

Hik All!
Upgrade
I read repeatedly "got an upgrade ...".
Would anyone let me know how it works, please?
Do I go to the box office, show e.g. my GA tic, ask them for an upgrade and hopefully get a leftover Pit tic or how?
Thanks folks, I am grateful for every hint.

scalpers/touts don't anger me. Fans do. If fans didn't buy from these companies then they wouldn't exist. It really is that simple. Quite often you can go on Viagogo a day or 2 before an event and watch the prices tumble. If we the public quit paying these inflated prices they will quit charging it, sadly I don't see that happening.
