If it's a long running thread, like Rockman's or CindyC's, than it's fine to keep adding to it.

Otherwise, I think BV prefers that people stay away from ancient threads and just start a new one. I know what he doesn't like is multiple current threads on the same subject, as in More Mick Taylor.

He has to do the housekeeping around here, so I imagine he gets tired of sweeping the same floor over and over again.

But don't go by me, I could be dead wrong.

rules are meant to be broken. and if you're going to break them, smash 'em up good....

I'm glad we created a new thread to limit new threads.

When I was young I though anarchy was great. Everybody can do what they like. Then I realized some are crazy and some are dominant and some don't care and some don't appear nicely and some steal your money and some are actually aggressive. So I left that path and though may be some rules are fine. IORR is still pretty much anarchy when every time somebody post something they do expect - and find - that post to stay regardless of content. If that was a newspaper of the editorial kind that post may never seen the light of day.

To post on a 10 years old thread makes no sense. It is out of time and out of context. It is like meeting a friend after 10 years of absence, and ignoring the gap of 10 years, then talking on like the 10 years in-between did not happen. Please do not do it, it will freak me out and I will look for the delete button very fast. And it takes time away from my spare time, time better spent stalking Stones affairs, family or oaid work, in order of importance.

If you post something new, like "OT: NHL", then it is wise to look for an NHL thread. If you post about Beatles then you should know that it is very off topic so it will probably (for sure) be merged into an existing "Beatles goes here" thread.

I ask myself this: Is this really rocket science? I mean posting policy?
