Thanks everyone for aiding in my painless conversion to "Fan".

Go World!

If you are really a fan, you should tune into Brasil-Colombia. Great soccer to watch! The burgers can wait smoking smiley

I'll get there eventually. I was planning on it. Just too beautiful. Two hours w/ a bass around my neck and another w/ a guitar. Two different bands work lists. All poolside. Motown while my wife was grillin'. National holiday. Surely I get an exemption...

Peace,

Quite boring. Actually a letdown, I expected more play and got more flops.

Argentina looking phenomenal at the moment. Champ material.

Player of the tournament for me: Di Maria (Arg)

Disgusting non fair play by Argentina.

Argentina is primed for the World Cup victory, fueled by the frustration of waiting for the Stones to return. Indeed, the Stones are the true victors of the WC.

Where is the football feast we saw during the first two weeks? I guess it's exciting for the remaining teams but these 0-0 matches aren't exactly football candy for the rest of us.
In the end the big nations survive even with the slightest margin. The final? My guess: 0-0 after full time and a decision on penalties?

Penalties. Very exciting in the end though. I must admit. Holland replaced their goalie in the last minute! Holland favourites - even on penalties.

I know, no one cares, but Holland won on penalties. I will root for Holland now since they are the only team remaining that hasn't won the World Cup earlier. And I don't think any team will beat them on penalties.

Had a fantastic spring/summer with the Stones. Tonight the Netherlands achieved the semifinals at the WC. Now against Argentina. Hope I will be welcome next year at River Plate????!!!!!

Of course you will be very welcome...but rumours say it won't be at River Plate Stadium here in Buenos Aires. Estadio Cuidad de La Plata is rumoured for 2 or 3 shows. And of course you will be welcome there too!

The Netherlands v Argentina next 9th July will be interesting btw!
Brazil v Germany also very exciting too!

Zero points for me in the prediction game for the last four matches. Maybe I should start predicting again what I expect, rather than what I wish smiling smiley

It was even worse for me. Five matches and zero points. If I were a sports journalist, I'd already be fired. spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Wow! Changing your coalkeeper in the last two minutes, because the other one maybe is a better penaltykiller. Is this luck, or is Van Gaal a genius?!

I don't know.... I realy don't.

I mean, we, the Dutch, are winning every single game, with players like Kuijt, who has never played as a defender before; with Wijnaldum, who didn't play a lot last season and isn't the best choice to begin with; we've got Van Persie, who wasn't at his best the last couple of months, that's also the case with Sneijder for a couple of years; all the defenders are not realy good and we play in a system (5-3-2) we never played before, but.... it works!!

Football is war? No, football is crazy!winking smiley
