When did Keith play slide on stage?

I always liked the way he played slide (in a rough 'n tumble kind of way). He didn't do it that much on stage though. I think he played it on Happy 1976 &
Little Red Rooster El Mocombo 1977. Anything else?

He played slide on every Happy-version before 1988.

I remember Stuttgart 99: When I saw him playing slide on YGTS I had tears in my eyes.

A great moment!

"Hey, babe, what´s in your eyes..."

I could have sworn that at one of the 2 Boulder gigs I attended in 1981 that Keith and Ronnie traded dueling slide lines during Let It Bleed. Anyone else there or at other gigs on the tour(probably early on) where Keith did some slide on this song?

He also played on You Gotta Move in 1969.

Only Ronnie (at least on the rest of the tour).

sounds like both he and Ronnie played it on the live version of Juiced at MSG in '98, too...

Keith and Ronnie also played both slide guitar on Meet Me In The Bottom during the 1995 European club gigs (10 years ago today for the first Paradiso...)

I'm not as good at remembering specifics as to what show but Mick played slide on Far Away Eyes While Keith stood beside him singing, guitar hanging at his side. Priceless.

would have been priceless...but your memory is even worse than you think. Mick has never played slide, period, and Keith has never sung Far Away Eyes. And, even if you flip/flop players - Keith has never played slide to FAE.

Unfortunately, Keith's fingers have such swollen joints that I doubt he could get a slide to fit over them anymore.

Our hero is "damaged"and it's not going to get better with age.

a tragedy.

OK....found the show....Voodoo Lounge, BC Place, Far Away Eyes.

So besides harp and guitar you are telling me Mick never learned even one song on steel?!? Not for one night did he ever even try it.

Keith was co-singing, sorry if I confused anyone with that.

Mark - no doubt Ronnie is playing pedal steel on that with KR on "straight" guitar and b/u vox.

Your source for that particular show is....?

I'm truley curious, hate it when my memory is in question (in general, not particularly this thread)....what was the question?

no source - it just seems credible to believe that KR played the part he has always played on that song. I could be wrong...

Keith has said that slide aint his thing. He got into it for Let It Bleed to add texture, and used slide guitar very well throughout the album. Rambler, Monkey Man, Silver, Love In Vain. He played within his limits and the results were great, but he isthe first to admit he is not a real slide player.

Milo, NYC
Here it comes..........

The pedal steel that Mick plays is actually called a piano. Wood plays pedal steel, Keith does the standard guitar and out of tune singing.

Well, Keith has made great contributions in studio playing slide guitar, but if you really think he's one of the best, you should hear Duane Allman, Johnnie Winter, or more simple, listening to Mick Taylor more closely...

That`s why he`s one off the best, he`s not THE best, because there is no one THE best, even MT if you listen closely............ smiling smiley)

T&A, not sure if this correct or not but in regards to you saying Mick never played slide, I believe he did play slide on his solo song Blue.

Which is a great song.
