Why is that many of today's rock stars dress and look like landscapers and out of work gas station attendants vs. rock and rollers? I mean really! Where is the make up, the hair, the clothes, the jewelery??!?!
Like Hughes said "I want my rock stars to look like rock stars".
Aside from the metal bands, most of these guys look like roadies. I get that due to the unfortunate financial realities of the music business, many musicians must work in and function in "normal" society but....c'mon. At least make an effort!

Maybe because the mainstream pop scene have begun dressing like yesterday's rock stars and thus today's rock stars balance that by dressing like yesterday's pop stars...

Yes, I very much liked when rock stars looked like rock stars and most tried to look good - now they see who can look the crappiest (to look streetwise, I guess). I blame it on Cobain.
