The Who announce an extra tour date and name their special guests
The Who have confirmed a powerful lineup of special guests set to join them on their final North American run, The Song Is Over Tour. Artists including Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters, Billy Idol, Booker T. Jones, Candlebox, Feist, Joe Bonamassa, The Joe Perry Project (Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Buck Johnson, Chris Robinson, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz), Tom Cochrane, and ZZ Ward will appear across various stops on the historic farewell tour.
Additionally, The Who have added a second night in Chicago, IL — Tuesday, September 9 at United Center — due to incredible fan demand. Joe Bonamassa will support both Chicago dates.

Utterly abominable. And after Roger had the gall to claim catgorically that the previously reported antics of his were all fake news. He should come clean instead of hiding behind Pete, which is what it looks like yet again.
I agree, it all stinks rather badly. What a horrible and grubbily stained exit from the world stage for the mighty WHO. It saddens me enormously.

This is really unfortunate and an embarrassment for Pete & Roger and their legacy.
Steve Jordan comments on Zaks post -
"Zak.... we all know what's up... just keep rockin' like your dad.... it's all good... it's been said, "the truth will set you free".... You will be surely missed and everyone will FEEL IT! If the band doesn't care anymore, certainly the FANS DO.... They deserve better...."

This had nothing to do with my decision not to go to the Vancouver show...though it reinforces with me that I made a sound decision (for myself).
The song is indeed over.

Why are people defending Starkey? Nobody was there to know the full story.

it's a good point but at the moment it sure looks like rodger wanted zak out so he could have his solo drummer in the band instead
but i'm open to hearing rodger and pete's side of this

Ringo with the current tally on the number of times The Who have fired his son, Zak.

And him having done the same thing to Rabbit 15 years ago (which has also been worse for the band imo), I think he has form here.

Hum, so what's up exactly ? That Daltrey wanted the drummer of his solo shows onboard ?

That’s unfortunate bout Zak. Yes it’s time Who retired. I won’t be going to the Vancouver show.I’ve never seen them at all.

Go to the show. They still kick ass live. Still a better live band than 95 percent of other bands out there. They play tight and sound great

Do what I do, get cheap upper bowl tickets! I'm there to see Pete and Roger anyway, just like last month, seeing Brian and Angus.

Seeing Roger onstage shirtless in the 2000s (can't remember what show that was from, 9/11? Wasn't there another benefit concert for NYC after a hurricane?) was enough to convince me they had long jumped the shark.
