I totally agree. I’m so fed up with people complaining about the fact that bands like The Who choose to continue playing live and making music. I was also there in March and it was brilliant! Are they still young men? No but so aren’t we the audience either. If you don’t like it, rot at home, then there’s more tickets for the rest of us.

I know you hate their current incarnation, GLS, but that's not a valid comparison.
The man who wrote those genius songs is still there, and playing fantastic guitar (albeit inconsistently), and the guy who sung most of them is still in incredible voice (as I saw in March in London).
Of course, they are very far from the monster juggernaut live act that paraded from 65-82, but there are certainly still flashes of brilliance.
I think if they did more intimate shows, more acoustic vibe, it would work better,
But it is really not a Mike-Love-in-a-Hawaiian-shirt-sing-the-songs-written-by-his-cousin-(who he hates)-type of show.
I love The Who.
The current incarnation has done a great job. I just wish someone would STFU.
However...
They've been coasting on their laurels, hence the Beach Boys comment.
Not a comparison. The Who have always played their instruments. And they have nothing new to offer.
They're not The Rolling Stones.
But what about 2019's "The Who"? Last time I gave it a spin it sounded and looked new even though I prefer Endless Wire which was a brilliant record. They may not offer anything new down the line but six years ago ain't that long ago n'est-ce pas?

Hopefully they STFU after this.
What a waste of time.
The English Beach Boys.
Just like the Stones two original members a lead vocalist and a guitarist

Zak Starkey's response:
I was fired two weeks after reinstatement and asked to make a statement saying I had quit the who to pursue my other musical endevours this would be a lie. I love the who and would never had quit. So I didn’t make the statement ….quitting the who would also have let down the countless amazing people who stood up for me (thank you all a million times over and more) thru the weeks of mayhem of me going ‘in an out an in an out an in an out like a bleedin squeezebox x

What a DISGRACE. This is ALL Roger, I can't believe Pete would make a decision like this. Bloody awful this.

Are Live Nation out of their frigging minds?

Utterly abominable. And after Roger had the gall to claim catgorically that the previously reported antics of his were all fake news. He should come clean instead of hiding behind Pete, which is what it looks like yet again.

How is this possible in this day and age ?!
Good on Zak for telling it how it is though.
